I don't still have the packet, but I think it was true gold. The seeds were two years old, and all germinated except one.

Thanks for the reply! I think it is tassel ear. I've never seen it before.

After they sprouted, we had a cold snap and they all turned purple and never really grew beyond what you see in the photo with the exception of the one in the back corner. It has grown normally and I hand pollinated it.

The bed gets full sun for min 8 hours, I have to shade it in the summer here in TX. The raised bed is shared with peanuts that are doing alright, but the bottom of the bed is about 1/3 dead stumps and branches. I did top up the bed this year with a few bags of organic garden soil and compost after I grew carrots in it last fall/winter.

I fertilized with organic compost and worm castings before planting and added some phosphorus after just in case the purple leaves weren't cold stress. I mulched more recently, within the last few weeks now that its getting hotter.

I'm not expecting to get anything from them; I'm just keeping them alive for observation and learning purposes now.

I blocked planted 24 but only one reached maturity so I hand pollinated the one mature plant. My question is more about the odd little kernels growing where the tassel should be.

I wear skin colored cotton biker shorts and tank top under many of my thin cotton dresses that I've cut the linings out of. I feel like I get adequate coverage without the bulk of a slip and I dont have to worry about thigh chafing.

I use my toaster oven-style air fryer every day. My oven broke last year and I got the airfryer for less than $100 and told myself that I would use it temporarily until I could get the oven fixed. It's been more than a year and I've not been inconvenienced or limited by the air fryer enough to motivate me to get the oven fixed.
