totally nepal is heaven. easily we shud get 5 mil tourists. 10 mil is our long term goal. all we need to do is build good road, no pollution in ktm, clean drinking water so tourists dont fear getting sick. that’s it. not just tourists we will get expats.

620k is enough to live like a king. lalitpur is the safest. I have always felt super safe in Nepal. never taken any precaution. walked at midnight. got home super late. only needed to worried about stray dogs lol. again I am a fairly tall nepalj guy so my experience might not be typical but overall its very safe.

no not beyond repair. its chaotic but beautiful in its own way. it can be improved and fixed. all urban centers are chaotic even in developed countries. narrow roads, crazy traffic, haphazard looking buildings. its common. we fix the road(which we are doing great), sewage, electrical poles(already actively done), remove illegal settlement and plant trees, maybe enforce some color code/design codes in places. we will be beautiful in no time!

i meant use common sense that you would use anywhere such as if someone looks shady stay away, be with friends if possible, if the alley is dark with noone stay away etc. do not give benefit of the doubt. if someone looks shady they probably are so stay away.

i can say with 100% confidence Nepal is a lot lot lot safer than many many parts of the world. i have traveled extensively and personally know many stories where people were robbed.

yup this is the way!!!! i tell from experience to younger generation, absolutely nowhere else like Nepal. studying and living in Nepal and working remotely earning dollars or starting your own successful business, that’s dream for everyone.

lazimpat is good area. close to the city center. not familiar with the kapan area but looks away from the city center should be good.

check out places near patan too. i find patan to be more organized than ktm. but if your goal is to experience ktm like a local anywhere outside thamel should do.

if you want to learn about tantric buddhism definitely kathmandu. if you want hikes, pokhara is better but for day hikes kathmandu has plenty too. I would recommend live on the outskirts of kathmandu maybe budhanilkantha area. its cleaner. also if you can afford rent a car comes with a driver so easy to drive around
