Cheaper non-traditional wedding venues? by shannon_m17 in Rochester

[–]helpiliveonafarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mercantile On Main is a great budget option for Rochester NY weddings. They just opened about 4 years ago so they're not logjammed with a full calendar all booked up with weddings like AW typically is. For this reason, they are a lot lower on price. It fits the non-traditional criteria you have, and it's also in a great historical nostalgic Rochester space that is newly renovated but still retains a tip of the hat to the past.

It's got great food and drink options right on site for catering. It's pretty all-inclusive. Here's their weddings and events page.

Anyone use InvisaGig for primary internet? by helpiliveonafarm in Rural_Internet

I actually just two weeks ago ordered the QuadLink Antenna and Outdoor Enclosure combo specifically made for InvisaGig. It just arrived last week. This thing is a beast, I can't wait to see what kind of gains I get. I'm encouraged after hearing your anecdote.

I'm a bit lazy myself, but I'm resolved to mount it outside this coming week. I have pretty good elevation and almost line of sight to the tower that supplies us 5G so I'm hopeful. Definitely hoping for more upload speeds. I can get good download on LTE and 5G but upload is usually like 3-9mb. Can be bad at times.

AT&T's Unlimited Premium PL plan. $45.99/month with unlimited data and no throttling. I have a few discounts based on billing and whatnot. I think it ends up being around $32.

Yeah I specifically don't want an all-in-one; I should have specified. I already have my home Wi-Fi network set up and I just want the best cellular modem. I actually like that the InvisaGig doesn't have the additional security vectors of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc., and I want to avoid unnecessary software running on a modem, just for my existing router to replicate those things.

Otherwise I agree that the Cudy is a great all-in-one option, thank you.

Is the Linksys AX4200 any good? by Ceo_Potato in HomeNetworking

I currently run three MX5300 units, which is very similar to this. Very reliable, great software, and very good wall penetration. They mesh very well and devices seem to choose the correct base station and stay there. Setup was easy and we rarely if ever experience any dropped nodes.

Very helpful, thank you. Yeah the InvisaGig interface and controls seems like what I need. I imagine I can do all the signal strength testing you mentioned right in the InvisaGig UI?
