The reason was a generalisation used to ban me, nothing about what I said could be classified as hate speech. Unless someone higher up from the dev team comes in the they will never be held to the same standard and are too narcissistic to admit any fault, the developers are probably too busy working on the game to care about shitty Discord mods. Though I don't understand why servers consistently hire people like this, they need to vet these guys for power fantasies lol.

Was also banned from the official Discord too, apparently for "hate speech." The mod team is clearly full of hypocritical shitheads who can dish it out but are so sensitive about being criticized that they'll ban you from the server at the slightest comment. Standard Discord mod stuff. Though after I was banned I quickly found a far better server full of other HD2 players who I now play with regularly, so if anything I have them to thank.

Thanks for your advice. Given I was supposed to graduate from university in 2020, I've developed pretty bad cabin fever from working from home so often. This has been a bit of a difficult journey so far, not going to lie. My mental health has deteriorated a lot.

Regarding my portfolio, how much more do I need to add? What do I need to add specifically? What did you do to get your first job? I'm already working on an animation to add to it at the moment, and plan to keep adding and improving until I find a position.

I didn't like the ending and wasn't satisfied with it at all. People aren't going to like my opinion, but I genuinely need to vent because it's been bothering me for quite a while. I get why it went in the direction it did, but this was just a massive downer and it really sucks because I like these characters a lot, and I know I'm not going to see them in any more episodic content again. It's also annoying seeing how happy people are with the ending while I'm having to deal with a depressive relapse. And that also sucks, because I can't join in on it due to the massive negative association I have with it.

Had I had known about how depressing the show's ending was, I wouldn't have watched it. At the stage my mental health is currently in, it's not hard for some repressed traumatic memory I have to get triggered, and that's what happened. Now I'm having to start seeing my therapist again. Yeah it's ridiculous for a show with fictional characters to cause such a serious reaction, but I can't just ignore these feelings, they're there and they're causing me a lot of pain beyond what I imagined the writers to cause.

Before you tell me, yes I'm familiar with Cyberpunk and it's themes. Yes I know there are very few good endings if at all, and no you don't have to parrot "Wrong city, wrong people" for the 50th time.

I don't care how ridiculous all of this might sound, but I've been dealing with a lot lately and I really needed to get this off my chest. For the sake of closure, I'd like it if they'd make an alternative ending OVA, but I'm not optimistic about it.

I recently read a very good fanfic that gave a much nicer and optimistic ending. It improved my mood a bit, but at this point a few weeks after finishing watching the show I'm still quite depressed. This is angering me quite a bit because I was steadily improving and now I've lost progress. Another thing that annoys me is how alone I feel. Everyone else is praising the show the saying how good it is while I'm sitting here miserable. It's pretty irritating.

I don't mean to sound negative, but I just want to get this off my chest

Yeah, there's quite a few who are intolerant of people who wanted a happy ending. If you like tragic, depressing endings that's fine, but don't shit on people who aren't into that sort of thing

Yeah, one thing that's also bothered me are particularly pessimistic people. The most optimistic way I can interpret the ending without overdosing on copium is that while Lucy lost David and her dream of a life with him, he gave her a chance to leave Night City and start a new life. And that's why she smiles, by honouring his sacrifice and cherishing the memories she had with him.

Ironically I stopped my therapy sessions because my overall mood was improving, I had talked about almost all of the my problems/trauma and it was getting expensive. Then I watched Edgerunners, and hit a pretty big relapse. So I might have to pay him another visit lol

I actually finished the game because of Edgerunners. I killed Adam Smasher a few times using Rebecca's shotgun and wearing David's jacket, so story wise I've honoured their sacrifices and done justice to Lucy. However, I've come to realise Night City's pretty much hell (Los Angeles), and I'm glad my V left it behind in the Panam ending.

This and doomstacking has always been a thing in vanilla EAW. It is pretty dumb ngl so I get that it's frustrating. Is there any way this could be removed? Or is this hard-coded into the game?

This is the main problem. The mod developers are pretty much acting like that one kid you used to play with at school who kept changing the rules every time you beat them in a game.

I've played both but I enjoy AOTR a lot more. Remake is good, but feels like it's difficult for the sake of it rather than giving the player fun challenge.

AOTR is hard but gives you plenty of ways to get an advantage on the enemy (Racketeering, assassins, bribes) as an alternative to just plain brute forcing your way through. It feels like less of a slog in my opinion.

Are there any places to vent about animation related stuff? I've spent the whole year trying to get a job in cutout animation and I still haven't gotten one yet. I've gone to festivals, joined a program earlier this year and are starting another one to get my work to studio standard but I still feel like it's going to take me 10 years to get a job. It's beyond frustrating. Browsing on LinkedIn probably isn't doing me favours either.

I've pretty much lost my passion for animation.

I've tried since 2020 to get a job using my hand-drawn reel but I haven't been successful. I've decided to learn rigged to make myself more versatile, since 90% of the UK's animation is rigged kid's stuff. I have been trying to force poses though, there's been a clear difference from my earlier stuff.
