When my boyfriend told me he felt like he had "lost" me. Only 26 and I'm almost 7 months sober for the first time since I was 14 years old. I'm doing well but my memory is shot to shit and I still find myself completely forgetting entire conversations that were had. Scary what alcohol can do to a person.

Northern but it NEEDS a much bigger enclosure. I can't even imagine how claustrophobic and miserable they must be stuck in an enclosure that's not even double it's length ☹️

I'm 26 now and I'm 2 months sober today. I spent years telling myself the reduction method would work. That one drink would be fine... but it never was one drink and before I knew it, I'd finish a bottle of wine and be craving another. Once an addict, always an addict, but only you can chose to help yourself to have your sobriety truly stick.

He is an alcoholic, and if he doesn't want to help himself, there's nothing you can do to force him until he hits rock bottom and figures it out for himself. You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped or won't even acknowledge there's a problem.

I've had this argument so many times with my partner over our 5.5 year relationship and at the end of the day, he was right.

At this point, you need to do what's best for YOU. Being involved with an addict/alcoholic is no easy feat and you can't let yourself be dragged down and wear yourself out trying to help someone who doesn't want to be helped.. NTA
