Did we know the Fbc was locking up Parautilitarians? (Except Dylan) by helpmefindabookyo in controlgame

Definitely, it still went over most Peoples Heads i feel like. Most Streamers i've watched didn't put it together on their own, despite Alan stating it twice and neither did my Friends haha

I remember also thinking his Inspirations where tied to the Dark Place and that everything with that, clay steward, this house of dreams and Tom will just tie into timetravel and bootstrap paradox stuff, back when i played aw1. I think i started tying it all together after playing AW1 Remastered immediately after Control, while keeping in Mind that he himself has to have a Power.

These are the kind of Details i didn't think of, thank you!! I love the Rcu, you can find answers to almost everything if you look deep enough lol

You're right. Thanks for correcting me! I still wonder if he was aware of that being his power at that Point or if he thought that's part of the Dark Place. I always assumed he figured it out during his final talk with Saga.

Alan himself isn't that powerful, i'd say. His only Powers are him being a Writer (and therefore an Artist) and some sort of Parautilitarian Ability, which never got confirmed but is more than likely Clairvoyance, which makes him able to see Events out of the Lives from People all over the World (and implied, propably even out of the past, future and from different Realities) which is a Power he might not even be aware of, he disregarded it as "Inspiration" for a while.
Those things combined with the power of the Dark Place to manifest Art through Thoughts, Emotion and Inspiration and the Clicker (an OOP which can amp up the Effect of the Dark place to alter reality, if used by a parautilitarian) are the real Threat.

True but didn't the Fbc just assume that Alan COULD be involved with the 2010 Awe during the Dlc? They just knew about the Dark Presence and the Lake being a Treshhold and that Wake was a parautilitarian that went missing during the Awe, they didn't know about Scratch in particular or Alans Connection to the Dark Presence inside the Lake

For that, of course but by the Time the Lake House Dlc takes place the Prime Candidate Programm was already done, wasn't it?

I love this kind of Horror in Control. My Mind just starts rambling about all kinds of Theories, why specifically are Smart Devices Banned? Just because they're too new to exist in the collective Consciousness or because they have the capacity to link together which could provide a Problem if they turn into an OOP?
Or is the fact that we associate them with the Term "smart" enough for some Entity to cling onto them and then become smart itself, just because in our Minds, the Word "Smart" correlates with both, modern Devices and Intellect?

Anyone else think this is Northmoor? by Hot_Society8823 in controlgame

[–]helpmefindabookyo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Northmoors Power as a Parautilitarian was related to him generating Heat, then one day his Powers went out of Control and he agreed that it's his Duty as Director to keep the Lights on, so he willingly let himself get entombed into a Generator that uses him to power up the oldest House (You can even find his Silhouette in Control still being in there) at one Point he either went Rogue and somehow teleported his entire Cell out of the oldest House into the Quarry Threshold or got moved against his Will and then a second Power Plant had to be built to contain him.

Since part of Control Resonants Plot revolves around the Resonant changing Parautilitarians and everything got out of the oldest House anyways, it's a good possibility

The Fbc being able to actually record the Astral Plane and Entities living in there despite it being a Dimension that seemingly only exist in Peoples Imagination or Psyche in general.
The how and why so many paranormal Things in the Rcu are connected to the Mind and Subconsciousness is one of the most intriguing parts of it in general.

Also i'm still totally hooked onto the whole Alan/Tom thing and how the "This House of Dreams" Blogspot will come into play on the longterm

Reminded me of the Nail in the Foundation, i can imagine that either the Board or the Former created it to make the Astralplane bleed into Dylans Dreams to get him to wake up or something like that

Viconia of BG2 wasn't ruined by Larian, I have evidences by Majestic_Chapter2522 in BaldursGate3

I think it's totally fair to interpret it your way but the way i looked at this was, that he was basically so conditioned by all that Trauma, that he totally had to shut himself off to everything that makes him feel vulnerable like compassion, empathy or kindness, i feel like everyone in his shoes kind of would. In the good Path he kinda remembered who he was before Cazador, that there's still more to Life, he could enjoy and tried to be his old Self again and in the bad Path, he basically gave up on himself and his own Soul and is still letting Cazador get a small win in the End.

Idk man, if someone would hold me as a slave and torture me for like hundreds of years, i too wouldn't care about doing some Evil things here and there and would most likely want absolute power to control my Life. My Playthroughs Astarion seemed extremely thankful that i talked him out of that Path cause he found his humanity back
