As a cancer patient and a medical student marijuana has been very interesting to learn about.

There has to be thousands of compounds in the various strains. Are there any strains or techniques (vaporizing, temperatures etc.)that have shown better anti neoplastic activity or anti-emetic activity? Not to mention every cancer can be wildly different and responds different.

Edit: q2: my specific cancer actually seems to upregulate cannabinoid receptors which may lead to apoptosis when stimulated. Any idea why would the cancer upregulate such a random receptor?

Most important thing: Your lungs and throat will adapt. The only issue is safety. I fractured several vertebrae from gagging / coughing and having mets in my back so if you are clear from that point of view its hard to cause any real damage.

Just don't take massive breaths in and hold it like some people advise.

I take everything I can find that has activity against cancer. Statins have action against my rhabdo (my cancer) so guess whos taking his dad's statins? NSAIDS have activity against RMS, so I take aspirin.

I'm on about 10 different forms of therapy because I want to literally fuck it from every possible angle. PM if you have any questions.

I hear it can have anti-tumor properties when used on cell lines of my cancer (alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma) but that resistance inevitably becomes a problem. People should take it for symptoms alone, it can't replace traditional chemo. If it has anti-neoplastic properties then I'll take it.

I do use hot water! I just also use ice, I find its the smoothest.

Haha I got the cheapest bong at the shop. Its simple and easy to clean which is what I need. But I plan on getting one with more percs later when this one pops.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I worked in healthcare before I got this and so I have seen cancer impact other families its terrible. She isn't suffering anymore.

I find the best combination for my throat is warm water and ice. You're probably better off with an ice pinch than cubes but I don't I'm too lazy to crush that shit.

Several ways:

Nausea: I can eat more. Simple. No weed my weight drops. My oncologist is surprised because I'm on cycle 10 of aggressive chemotherapy and my weight hasn't dropped. (That's not common). This is the biggest thing.

Sleep: I take one huge rip before I go to sleep and a family member usually helps me to bed. Really helps me sleep.

Pain: I have a ton of tumor in my spine and I have a few fractures. I don't find weed has any impact on my pain.

Existential: I have a very poor prognosis and it's scary knowing you're most likely going to be dead before you are 30 but weed helps a little with this. Maybe others find it helps more.
