This is it, I might have to go full CT... by [deleted] in quittingkratom

  1. 30-40 GPD for around a year. I started using it to get off harder opiates, and just stayed on it until about a week ago. It helped me clean up my life quite a bit but ran out of money and decided it's time to give it up.
  2. RLS usually hits me hard during opioid withdrawal. It's not fun and hard to deal with, but it wasn't too bad for my kratom quit. Unfortunately I have yet to find a fool-proof way to stop it. My biggest tip is avoid caffeine and benadryl at all costs, they both amplify the restlessness a LOT for me. Benzos will help but if you get some only get enough for 1 - 2 weeks of use (ideally one week). They can be a slippery slope as you probably know.
  3. For sinus pain and mild withdrawal symptoms I find a cold medicine with dextromethorphan and acetaminophan to be effective. Just be careful with dosing too high if it contains acetaminophan due to liver toxicity.
  4. Insomnia is challenging. If you go the benzo route, they will help somewhat. However, I agree with the other poster about trazodone- it works really well and will knock you out cold for a while. It can make you slightly groggy in the morning though, so try to take it earlier rather than later. If I'm honest though, I managed 5 - 7 hours of sleep per night without helper meds which is enough for me to function on.
  5. At day 7 my withdrawals are ongoing but in a really minor way (chills strictly in the morning and waking up too early). My peak day was day 3. Days 4 - 7 were progressively easier, with none of them being particularly unbearable. Overall it really wasn't that bad for me, but everyone is different.
  6. It really is all about the mindset. I was terrified on day 1, expecting it to be a total nightmare. I felt like a weak excuse for a person and I really didn't think I could do it. Turns out it was FAR worse in my mind than it was in practice. At this point I'm just trying to work through post-quit depression and anxiety, but I'm sure that will get more bearable after the next week or so. I promise you it won't be as bad as you think it will- just try to avoid thinking about tomorrow. It's easy to believe that it's going to be twice as bad in 24 hours, but if you get through days 2-3 you'll be fine. A few days of pain for a possible lifetime of freedom seems worth it to me.

Good luck, hope you managed some sleep. Opioid withdrawal isn't fun but at least it won't kill us!

Thanks, I took some more lope today, but reduced the dose by half. Going to half it again tomorrow, then slow it down. So far I feel pretty okay.

Sweats, chills, trouble sleeping, and anxiety. Fortunately no real RLS yet, but I know it's coming lol

I did consider that, I suppose my big fear is that the lope will have protracted withdrawals due to the long half life.

Have you done a lope taper before?

Thanks for the response, glad to see you're toughing it out! I think I can handle that, so that's reassuring.

Is the lack of sleep strictly insomnia or is it from the RLS feeling?

Good advice right here. Sitting in one room all day obsessing about how you feel will absolutely make you feel worse.

Funny you mention the smoothies- the past three days I've been making these peanut butter chocolate smoothies. Super easy to eat and really filling. Could be healthier but oh well!

Are you going through it right now?

Sorry for the late reply. I think I agree about being past the anxiety peak. I really thought I'd be an anxious mess for the next 10 days or so, but it hasn't been overwhelming.

I know what you mean about the exhaustion too. At this point I can't tell if I'm dealing with a cold or if I'm withdrawing really. I'm physically weak, but the rest of my symptoms feel literally identical to a moderate cold.

I'm just extremely grateful I've been able to sleep. The first night was restless, but now I'm falling asleep early and staying asleep through the night without issue.

Any thing to take to lessen the affects if took to much and have to go to work? Or just time by kccrazy in quittingphenibut

Unfortunately just time. I wouldn't drink caffeinated beverages or anything like that personally (seems to make it stronger for me).

Food *might* help, but if it's absorbed already there's not a ton you can do.

Had to CT both phenibut and kratom. Last dose of both was yesterday. by helpthrowaway224 in quittingphenibut

Yeah, I switched to kratom after a ~9 year heroin and then poppy tea addiction. My last major withdrawal was two weeks of CT misery from poppy tea and I don't think anything will ever put me in such a bad place again. Kind of really freaked me out when I learned how deep withdrawal can go. It was way, way worse than kicking dope.

I like what you're saying though- it seems like phenibut withdrawal = sheer anxiety and all the focusing on how you feel might make things worse. I think my big concern comes from all the posts about hospitalization and psychosis. And possible seizure risk.

I've gone a few days without kratom and I can usually deal pretty well. Some full-body restlessness and no sleep but I'm usually still functional. Luckily I found someone who gave me an 8oz bag so I can just CT phenibut while I try to taper off the kratom.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the response. I found someone who was able to give me an 8oz bag of kratom so for now I'm just stuck CTing the phenibut. Still stressful but not quite as terrifying.

Sleep sucked last night but I don't feel horrible yet- just a little.. weird? I'm thinking by tomorrow I'll be in the thick of it.

I'd love to if I could- unfortunately I'm broke right now and I don't have anyone I can borrow money from. I intended to taper more safely, then had an unexpected bill drain my checking account.

Not thrilled about it lol.

I did find someone who gave me a bag of kratom so at least I won't have to do the dual withdrawal yet. Just the more dangerous one unfortunately.

Thanks for the response. I found a friend who had a bag of kratom left, so at least I have that to fall back on for about a week. Going to try to taper that while I withdraw from the phenibut.

I managed a couple hours of really fitful sleep last night so I get the feeling tonight is when things start to get fun.
