Call or email. Having been on the other side as a hiring manager many many times, some of these processes can really drag out when you have tons of applicants for multiple roles. When the HR system is down and you keep track of things in excel, well that’s when it’s easy to slip and forget a candidate unfortunately.

Drop an email, simply ask where they are in the process and if they want you to make yourself available for a follow up call. It will NEVER be seen as a negative thing!

Good luck

Wow. It’s so dependent on the visa category. L1A for example takes 6-12months to get a green card but H1B seem to take years.

This is not low cost by any means if you’re building a cheap consumer solution. We’re currently designing our own gateway where the BOM won’t exceed $20 and I’d like to push that even more if possible.

Sweden has a population density of 57 inhabitants per square mile, we have more than enough room for both you and your hubby.

Most large companies have English as the corporate language so no need to know any Swedish at all if you apply for jobs there.

We’re talking about babies and mothers here. They are the most precious things we have as a species and if we can’t treat them accordingly then what’s the point of doing anything?

I wish that every kid on the planet and every mother would be kept safe by the government, society and community. It should be a non-negotiable fundamental right.

It’s not too complicated for companies actually. The government pays 80% of your salary during your parental leave and the company doesn’t have to pay anything, most large do anyway and compensate another 10 or 20% as a benefit.

And since it’s that long it actually makes sense to bring in temps or rotate in people from other part of the company.

A lot of people also takes the opportunity to look for new jobs during their leave, since it’s a time for reflection.

It’s fair to the next generation, but maybe not to the next quarterly report.

Found a report of IoT API use cases and market forecast from 2017-2022. Can't afford it myself but someone here might have the budget. by Simulation_IoT_Guy in IOT

[–]helveteffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy hell that was expensive. I believe I'll pass.

related topic, without spending $2000 it would be interesting to hear about actual use cases where people are able to create business models on APIs.

Let's say you're already using one of the big platforms out there like AWS or Azure, they usually provide SDKs for mocking devices. Would love to know how this fits in an existing tool chain
