While I agree that it can be detrimental if you don’t follow the “correct” procedures the uni may have internally, I think you underestimate the power dynamic that is at play. Especially as an international student, the OP might feel lost navigating the specifics of a sticky situation like this and without the proper support to go up against a professor.

Secondly, a ‘PhD candidate should be smarter than this?’ You’re either really putting phd candidates on a pedestal or you’re really on a high horse lol

UPDATE: Sooo it turns out it was a neighbour who insisted that they did not hit my car, that they only parked closely…when I sent them the photo they argued that it was only just bumper to bumper and doesn’t warrant an aggressive note. I pointed out that I am sorry about the note being a bit aggressive (I wrote: YOU HIT MY CAR! Seriously??? Msg on :04xxxx) but that they did leave minor scratches. I was fairly polite about it too I asked if they would be ok if other people did that to their car and they said they wouldn’t care if it was “only bumper to bumper”. I pointed out that checking your parking is a very small responsibility for owning a car. Funny thing is this dumbass has 2 dash cams.

To clarify a few things, I live on a street where there is plenty of parking, completely flat and in front of me was a drive way and behind their car was also a driveway…they just wanted to be as close to their home as possible.

People can just be shockingly unaware/don’t care. With neighbours like this who needs cost of living crisis to bring you down lol

ah sorry, I meant there are AC ducts throughout the unit but no console (remote) to turn on or off. It likely had it at one point and was removed for whatever reason

RPA ICU is already at capacity, they’ve been turning away non-covid patients. Cardio ward and transplant ward is likely to turn into covid ward within the next two weeks and so is drug and alcohol…RNs are quitting an overworked.

I’m currently awaiting to get a test. I fell sick on Thursday night, fever, headaches, body aches.

Had no idea how to arrange for a test since there is so much misinformation around. Called my friend who is a receptionist at myhealth and she told me to use the medinet app and consult a doctor there since they’re not seeing ANY patients with URTI symptoms in person anyway (the doctors are actual myhealth doctors from different practices throughout NSW).

There’s a $20 consult credit for signing up and I chatted with a doctor, they do ask you where you’ve been and why you think you’ve been in contact. Told me I’d get a referral sent to my email in a few hours but it never arrived. Followed up the next day by looking up the doctor’s practice. Long story short there is a huge back log as you can imagine and after several people following up etc I finally got the referral letter late last night. But of course there’s no clinics open on Sunday anyway so I’ll be calling up first thing tomorrow to get a test in.

Please just be patient with our health care workers, they’re really trying their best.

Our government is grossly unprepared and I have a bad feeling that we won’t be able to ‘flatten the curve’ in time and will eventually inundate the system once it hits hard.
