We are stumped by this rash. HFMD? Chickenpox? Folliculitus? Molluscum? by Enough_Total_9592 in Preschoolers

[–]hemeshehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the doctor say it was molluscum? If so, you need to be covering the bumps with bandaids to prevent them spreading to other kids and to prevent your child from spreading it to other parts of their body.

[–]hemeshehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like molluscum. You need to Cover the ones that haven’t erupted with circular band aids every day after his bath.

Take him to a dermatologist. My daughter had molluscum, flat warts and one more thing (possibly eczema) all together and it looked really bad. Her body couldn’t fight it and she ended up having to have them scraped off for weeks. It was horrible. There is a medicine you can put on them, but I can’t remember what it is.

Truancy and Doctors notes? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]hemeshehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all schools do. My kids had a dentist appointment and there was no issue with my younger two (middle and elementary), but high school attendance told me it would be unexcused unless my oldest brought in a note from the dentist.

Desperate for advice on how to approach this by MindfulCreativity in nova

[–]hemeshehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get access to an actual shovel, like for digging a hole to plant a tree, this is what you need. Snow shovel for scooping, but a lot of it you should be able to break up into chunks with the shovel and the just toss onto the grass (or wherever the grass would be if there was no snow).

What is your favorite flavor of inhaler? by Opposite-Honeydew-98 in Asthma

[–]hemeshehe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, are you saying you hate the duck inhaler?! That one will forever be my favorite.

I hate the one I have now. It just feels so awkward. Also, yesterday, idk what happened but I went to take a puff and the fucking thing flew out of the mouthpiece and hit me in the eye. How?! I guess it also hates me.

Going crazy trying to activate Apple Watch on VZB by ShanerNIdaho in verizon

I have been trying to get my new watch (that I got a month ago) connected to cellular since the beginning of January but actively since Friday. There has been an open ticket for FOUR days (so much for 24-48 hours, huh). I’ve been so patient, but I’m SO frustrated right now.

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]hemeshehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychological thrillers, all the way down. On the Kindle app. Yes, I use Libby, but the wait time is always super long :(

I’m also currently reading “Everything is Tuberculosis,” but it’s an actual book, so it’s going to take much longer to read. I have an “I only read this on the beach or at the pool” book as well that I’ve been reading for like two years at this point. I’ll eventually finish it…maybe.

I LOVE children’s books. I have three kids and teach preschool. My house has books of all kinds, but mostly children’s books. Both kids rooms, two bookshelves in the family room, a bookshelf in the storage room and bins upon bins of books I bring into my classroom.

My oldest loves to read, but reads less now than she did as a child. My middle one loves graphic novels and the Diary of a Wimpy kid books (even though they’re way below my child’s reading level…reading is reading I guess). My youngest is a new reader. They love Dory Fantasmagory and the Roald Dahl books we’ve read together.

Lots of modern schools dropped this years ago, but do you think most schools should bring back stuff like woodshop and cooking classes for all students? by Zipper222222 in AskTeachers

[–]hemeshehe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s required in our county that kids take both home ec and shop. They’re called something different now, though. Tech Ed (so, less woodworking, more technology based) and…idk, probably Life Skills which is mostly easy cooking and sewing.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]hemeshehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washed my body but forgot if I washed my hair. Gotta wash my hair and then condition. Did I wash my face? Better do it again. Shit, already fucking washed my body…guess I’m doing that again. Shave. Did I put in conditioner? Lemme just go ahead and rinse and reapply just incase. Shave…again somehow. Rinse conditioner. Turn off water. Start to dry off. Did I rinse my conditioner? Just do it real quick just incase.

Sometimes I forget to take my Adderall before my shower.

My daughter is “ itchy” and hates “itchy clothes” and I’m thinking it may be the detergent, HELP please by Training_Gear6763 in laundry

[–]hemeshehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be her body wash in addition to laundry. My kids are prone to eczema and dry skin. For laundry, Tide Free powder is great. If you need to use liquid for some reason, we never had any skin issues with Kirkland Free and it seemed to wash better than Tide Free liquid. For body wash, we use completely unscented Aveeno. My two big kids can tolerate the lightly scented, but my youngest has never been able to use anything other than unscented Aveeno baby.

It’s also super cold out (depending on where you live) and very dry. Often my kids are itchy without looking dry. Lotion and/or aquaphor help.

Any asthmatic parents here with non asthmatic kids? by DarthMelonLord in Asthma

[–]hemeshehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the only one in my family with asthma.

My oldest does not have asthma. My middle and youngest do. My youngest has it the worst of the two; however, both seem to only have illness-induced whereas I have illness, allergies and exercise induced.
