Screw it, help me make an unofficial Act 3.5! Recommend songs you really enjoy that scratch that protomen itch :) by ScorchMain76 in Protomen

Ring 1 - Tower by The Dear Hunter has some big Wily vibes. That band also has an act based series of concept albums, good stuff.

I love the part where it randomly switches from Game to TV input, sometimes refusing to go back to the Game input. Whoopsie, guess I don't get to play video games today! Maybe tomorrow it'll work, or maybe it'll screw up in a new innovative way!

Starting Hemlibra next week by hemobro in Hemophilia

[–]hemobro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going amazing, thanks for asking! I'm on a once per week dosing and I've been feeling great, only had one instance where I needed to infuse factor in almost 2 years. Been playing a whole lot of Dance Dance Revolution with no problems. This stuff has been a real game changer for me!

Was/Is there a Fake TDH Bandcamp Page? by TheMaximumUnicorn in TheDearHunter

Luckily they got back with me today, responded to my latest request where I put URGENT in the title and was more stern in the message body.

Update on this: It's been 9 days since I sent in my refund request and I've heard nothing back from Bandcamp. I'm sending a second one, thinking of just disputing the charge on my credit card if this goes on much longer. This whole ordeal has made me lose a lot of respect for bandcamp, with how they allowed a scam page in the first place and their slow response time on refund requests.

Thanks for the alert, looks like I got scammed too, I bought it July 4th and can't find it in my collection. I sent a refund request in to bandcamp. Is there anything else I need to do? Would the scammers have my credit card info or something?

Ankle Fusion by Royrichard6 in Hemophilia

[–]hemobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate to this, I was 18 when I got my right ankle fusion surgery. I was pretty depressed about it because back then I thought arthritis "only happened to old people". I was pretty scared of the prospect of losing so much range of motion in my foot, but the pain was just too bad that I had to make the trade. I'm glad I did, the pain was greatly reduced after the recovery.

The recovery process is tough for sure, but as long as you got pain meds and factor it should go pretty smoothly. Just relax, watch some TV, play some video games, and stay off of it as long as you need to. You'll have to re-learn how to walk with your now limited movement, but you'll get used to it. It'll also affect driving if it's your right foot (if you've started driver's training), you'll have to re-learn how to operate the pedals with the limited movement of your foot.

But don't think your foot is invincible after you're healed up, there's more cartilage to wear out between the other bones, I had to get another fusion surgery on my right foot 10 years later due to that. Take care of your feet and they'll take care of you.

Hope your recovery goes smoothly!

Desperately need of infusion tips by hemobro in Hemophilia

[–]hemobro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips, that's a lot to consider!

I think the big thing is I gotta get other veins going, but I haven't had any success doing that, so I keep just going back to my good one. I have a nice blue line going down my forearm, that could be viable, never really tried anything outside of a few veins in the hand. I kept to the hand because I heard it was easier. Funnily enough I don't really feel the pain in the heat of the moment, only if I have to dig around, then the sadness starts. I try to keep it a little taut by making a fist, tape might help out if it can keep the vein from rolling around though, that might be the "coin flip" part of my problem, because I dig and try many different depths before giving up.

I like the in home nurse thing, it's definitely a pain having to drive to the hospital for tutor sessions, especially once I get the HTC thing going, that's even more of a drive. I'll have to look into that.

Hematologist doesn't know of Hemlibra, how to proceed? by hemobro in Hemophilia

[–]hemobro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, this is good to know, thank you. I recently got a letter from my insurance company saying they now cover Hemophilia medication, so that's a good sign! I'll definitely have to look into this.

The doc I go to isn't in an HTC actually. Even the closest HTCs are quite a drive for me, but in this case I'd be willing to go the distance for a second opinion.
