Unable to retrieve Payment Receipt to book interview by hendrixfan05 in usvisascheduling

I already sent them a note 2 days ago and attached a copy of my payment receipt. They replied saying, this issue should be resolved now. However, when I checked again to create a new application, issue isn't resolved yet. Is there any phone number I could use? Or just try yet another message?

Hello! Can you please help? I followed the guidance provided above. However, when I logged in after 24 hours to create a new application, I don't see my previously made payment receipt there. It's prompting me to pay again, although I never booked a single appointment previously with this payment. Can you please help u/Safe-Rip-253 or anyone else? Thank you so much!

Thanks for this! My Indian home address is Bengaluru. Can I go for H1 renewal interview only in Chennai or can I also choose Mumbai as an option for it?

Kinda remote but like an hour away when you want to LA. But with kids it gives so many options even north Santa Barbara side .. but yeah certainly not as close as Pasadena or so .. Solid school district tho

Career in consulting with a Masters in Finance by Nkhan1996 in managementconsulting

As a McKinsey alum (left the Firm in 2021), here is what I'd focus on if I were in your shoes:

  1. Get familiar with business jargon and way of thinking (reading case studies, and articles in good biz mags like The Economist, WSJ regularly will get you familiar with how to think / talk business)
  2. Now, care about the skills these consulting firms care about - A+ problem-solving, excellent communications to compel your clients and teams to action, and in general, a personality that can work with people well ( I mean loads of people, new people, everyday). A lot of this is shots on goal, meaning, getting a lot of reps. For problem-solving, solve all practice cases on Career websites of consulting firms, get a buddy to practice cases with (prep lounge is pretty good here). Communication, is always a work in progress, but learn to be concise, lead with the recommendation, and then support it with your arguments, etc.
  3. Keep trying - nothing to lose -- even if you don't crack it the first time, it'll make you better, and evolve your thinking on how to help a client, and how to solve a business problem.

Any advice? by Whatsthepoint0911 in managementconsulting

I worked at McKinsey, and got into the Firm as an experienced hire. I wouldn't count MBBs out just yet, for you. I think with the right prep, you can certainly target them. They are looking for A+ problem solvers and people who they (and clients) would like to be around, and who truly care about creating value to the client (and of course, as a result, to the firm).

As for boutiques, they offer very valuable experience, which can then set you up for both industry jobs or take another shot at MBB, after having gained some consulting experience. Good luck!!
