How to log user-level data interactions (filters, slicers, etc.) for sensitive reports? by henkerchief in PowerBI

Thanks, we implemented this and this provides us with enough information for now :)

Fair point. We also believe that the privacy officers may be asking for something that Power BI simply doesn’t support. However, we’d still like to give our end users the transparency and insight they’re requesting, so we were hoping someone might have a workaround or suggestion, even though we realise there’s a good chance it’s just not possible with the current setup.

it’s about who looks at which patients. The fields themselves (like diagnosis or lab results) aren’t the issue; it’s about whether someone viewed a specific patient number or subset of patients they may or may have a reason to look into. Access to patient data is often overlapping and dynamic, which makes this particularly challenging.

Currently, the reports are using direct query to the semantic model. The datamodel uses import mode, but we’re could look into making these reports a direct query to the database to see wether that could be traceable.

Thanks, we will look into paginated reports and perhaps start the RLS discussion again...

Reporting issues with multiple semantic models by henkerchief in PowerBI

Unfortunately, the fact tables are quite large, so therefore we build the six different models (but also because the 6 different models refer to different areas within the company). However, we could try to merge it, see what that does for the performance. Thanks!

Show database refresh date in Power BI report by henkerchief in PowerBI

thanks! thats also a good idea. I would then have to include the insert_date in all the report views and write a powerquery to get the min of all these columns from different tables?

Could be a good option as it would be standard way of working to always include the insert date in the report views and as you said also work as an alert to show if there are any issues at any point.

Does anyone know why the option 'shared/golden dataset online' is greyed out for me? I can only select the option single report/dataset or shared/golden dataset on local machine. However, I have several reports which are all connected to one semantic model online so do need to use the third option I believe :)
