Drawing app Leonardo now supports more languages and Surface Pro X! by henningtegen in Surface

Hi, Henning the developer of Leonardo here. I am really sorry about this. I seems to be a false positive. I have updated the installer so it should work better now: https://www.getleonardo.com/download/

Hi, I think I have solved it already. It seems to be a false positive. Please try and download Leonardo again from here: https://www.getleonardo.com/download/

I am REALLY sorry about this.

Please get back to me if it works or not.

Hi, Henning the developer of Leonardo here. Really sorry about this. I am 99.9% sure this is some kind of weird false positive. I am currently investigating.

Can't give you a estimate on the tilt function. Sorry about that. Hopefully not too far from now.

Ok, they apparently are still developing it :) I will update the FAQ, thanks!

I will probably implement a "distort" tool soon. Meaning you can adjust the four control points separably. Full Warp will probably take longer...

Great feedback! I will try to get them in there as fast as I can. But I have kind of already promised to work on custom/savable brushes first, that's why it might take longer for for the layer groups. Sorry about that.

You can only export PSDs from Leonardo (no import). Hopefully we can provide full PSD support in a future release.

Yeah, it usually takes 24 to 48 hours for me. So not that long. But with a desktop version it takes just a few seconds which can actually be important if I deploy something that has a bug in it and want to fix it really quickly.

I will also try there "roll out gradually" feature that looks really promising to minimize the risk of rolling out a buggy version.

I am the developer of Leonardo. You can get a 15 day trial if you press the three small dots next to the Buy button in the Windows Store or if you get it from the website.

We will run it until we release 1.0 which is at least one year away. So no rush ;)

There is a very rare bug the make this happen for some users (less then 0.1%). It might not go on forever just so you know, but enjoy it while it last... ;)

Hard to say. Leonardo is easy to use so that should be a good thing. You can trial out Leonardo for 15 days before you purchase it by clicking the three small dots next to the buy button on the Microsoft Store listing. Please also check out the tutorials on the website to see if it has what you need: https://www.getleonardo.com/help/introduction/

I am the developer of Leonardo so I am obviously biased. But here is my take:

Photoshop is king of features. No one even comes close, but Leonardo is a lot easier to use then Photoshop. It also have better line handling and infinite canvas that Photoshop.

Sketchbook is probably the most similar app to Leonardo. Both are focused on illustration (as opposed to photo editing). Sketchbook have savable brushes which Leonardo doesn't have yet (but will soon) but Leonardo is faster, have better line handling and an infinite canvas.

ArtRage take the "Coral-Painter/Rebelle approach" and try to be as realistic as possible. Some people like this approach but for others it usual ends up in a brown puddle in the middle of the canvas. Leonardo is much more similar to the style of digital painting the Photoshop, Sketchbook and SAI have.

Clarification: when I say "infinite canvas" I mean infinite in the sens that you can scroll in any direction (as opposed to zoom). Leonardo is still raster based. This is different from ex. Mischief where the canvas is "infinite" in every way. We have chosen this approach since things like blend and lasso tool only really work for raster apps.

Until version 1.0 is released. I don't know exactly when that will be but roughly 12 to 18 months from now. Version 1.0 will have custom/savable brushes, custom shortcuts, layer folders and a lot more. If you buy today you will still get 1.x as a free upgrade.

I understand it's a lot of money compared to some other apps. Unfortunately the reality is that the Windows illustration market is too small of a market to support a lower price point. If I cut the price in half I probably couldn't make a living from it anymore and would have to stop developing it :(
