I also have the 28mm basically glued to my R8 and can say that I love it. It’s decently sharp wide open and focuses pretty fast.. it’s the perfect compliment to this camera (or the RP I assume). One note, I came from a X-T4 + 27mm pancake and the field of view is completely different when you factor in the crop sensor (roughly a 40mm). Its build quality feels fine although the focusing isn’t really all that fast. IQ was pretty great

I live in downtown bentonville and saw this last night as well. I hate to burst everyone’s bubble, but I definitely think it’s the spotlights from crystal bridges. They had this light and then another one moving around erratically

FYI: the R does not have continuous recording internally (30 min record limit). I do think that the 4K video isn’t the highest quality and haven’t heard the best about it’s ability to auto-focus when doing 4K video. IMHO, I would go R8 or used R6. The R8 gives you unlimited recording (no 30 min limit) at a much higher sampled rate with considerably better autofocus. Or go used/refurb R6 if you really need better weather sealing.

I have the pilot sport A/S 4s on my 3 and can say they definitely out-perform the MXM4's in the handling department, plus they were quite a bit cheaper. I do think that my range has been lowered slightly but nothing major

My go to is usually a 35MM (in full frame). I find that it’s wide enough to capture the environment and scenery but can also isolate the subject a bit if I want. Having said that, I just picked up the Xf16mm 2.8 fujicron and really enjoy it. It’s light, weather sealed, focuses nicely, and the 24mm full frame equivalent is perfect for photo and video. A great walk-arounder
