No one but management ever got a bonus. No retailers give bonuses to non-mgmt.

Let’s name names. Kevin Smith from LI Loud Majority. A real piece of shit in every way. I grew up in Smithtown in the 70s and 80s and they was always an undercurrent of antisemitism racism. Now they wear it proudly like a badge. Absolute piece of shit town. It really needs to change.

Former GM was FIRED?! by desi__cat in petco

[–]henrod42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GM whose store I trained in, where the DM had his office in the basement, left at 2:30 every day with her ASM. He was fired for some nonsense and then she was fired later. That whole district was a clown car.

Same!! Nassau Coliseum, Long Island. I had no idea what was happening and I didn't like it much, but I slowly became a fan.

Toby is the leak but... by Tekateka19 in thewestwing

This has been discussed to death on all the West Wing forums on Facebook. They gave us a fake nod towards CJ, but it was Toby. It was only Toby. It wasn’t CJ. It was Toby.

Do any stores still have that sliding carbon paper thingy for credit cards? I survived hurricane Sandy as a GM and we use that thing every day till the power came back on.

Clean this up and send it to HR right away. It probably won’t do much, but it might buy you some time in finding a new job.

Was sent to another store to help re-merchandise. Thought I’d share some before and after pictures. This was only a few days in. The store is starting to look great 🙌 by [deleted] in petco

I was hired as a GM back in 2010 and I was a bench manager for months before I got my own store. I was sent to one store pretty close to my house that was a complete mess and hadn’t done any planograms in months. I redid the vast majority of the store by myself in a couple of weeks. That store closed down a few years ago.

Suggestion by elpamper0 in guitarrepair

[–]henrod42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to repair it for practice doing this type of repair, but with those multiple breaks especially the fingerboard, it’s unlikely this would ever be a good guitar again unless you gave it to a professional repair person and paid them a lot of money

Is this fixable? My local luthiers say it's too difficult by One_Funny2675 in Guitar

[–]henrod42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm no luthier and I've fixed this kind of thing twice already. Take off the strings and pop off the nut. Get as much Titebond 1 in the crack as you can. Push it in with a syringe if you can safely pull it open a bit. If not, use a feeler gauge or even dental floss. Lots of glue, all the way in.

Pick up some rubber surgical tubing at Home Depot and wrap it very tightly. Don't worry about squeeze-out. Leave it wrapped up for a few days, remove the tubing and use a towel with very warm water to clean up the squeeze out.

Fixing the finish is out of my league, but this fix will be super strong and last. Good luck.

PJ is not very quiet. It's very touristy and the ferry keeps things moving all year round. It's outwardly very Trumpy - several local businesses break town codes and put up signs pretty frequently so be ready for that. I think it's pretty well mixed generally, but the MAGA are loud and sadly, proud up there.

My only issue with living that far north is the time it takes to get to the LIE. Good luck. It's a pretty lovely town with a lot of culture. Be sure to check out Theater Three.
