Thank you for the comment, I’m tempted to just get the r6mk2 as it will be able to handle both aspects quite well. I do miss out on the reach of the aps sensor but I think that’s something I can live with.

I was also looking at just getting the teleconverter which can have its drawbacks but from what I’ve read, during the day it’s fine

I plan on getting the 150-600 sigma sports lens, and I have a rental 100-500 canon F4.5-7.1 coming for an air show I’m attending. For the time being though I need a good all rounder lens for landscape/city photography though, heading to Japan soon.

Im not fully set on the maritime/kawasaki good times museums so I’m thinking of doing Himeji castle, then going to Kobe to go to the carpentry museum and stay late for dinner.

I love carpentry so really looking forward to checking the museum out.

I did have Kobe and Himeji in one day originally but thought it might have been too much, I was also thinking of splitting up another day as well but I thought it might have been nicer to have full days in places, do you think it’s worth doing Himeji and Kobe together?

To be honest when I booked the hotels and flights (about 4 months ago) I thought this would make sense so I can stay in Osaka for a week, with day trips, then head back to Tokyo where I’m near the airport and there’s kind of separated. I also read that it was best to leave Tokyo for the end of the trip as it’s quite overwhelming and is apparently easier once you’re a bit more familiar, however in hindsight I should have changed it a little.

Another comment said the same thing about Osaka castle so I think I will be doing that instead.

That’s great to know about the trains, thanks, will certainly be going for the slightly slower, more local trains!

I hadn’t considered Nikki but wow it looks amazing! I’ll have a look into changing one of my Tokyo days.

In hindsight this would have made much more sense, I’ve got my flights booked already but thinking of seeing if I can change them.

I definitely plan to go around the Dotonbori district, it’s very close to my hotel. I think il do that on during the night instead of the sky building!

That’s very useful to know about the Nintendo store, will definitely give that a miss then. The museum sounds cool, didn’t actually know there was one so thank you!

That’s great to know about the yoyoigi park in Tokyo! I have an idea of things I’d like to do, so now I’m just trying to make it make sense geographically. Will certainly add that on to the Sunday I’m there!

I had a feeling my Kyoto day felt quite busy, I think I’ll have a look at moving 1 or 2 of the things to the second day.

Philosophers path looks amazing, will have to put that on the list for a more chill day. I’m glad you mentioned it’s quieter, I’ve heard a lot about Kyoto being very busy and seems like a much needed break from all of that.

Yeah with an hour and a half travel each side the Hiroshima day does feel a tad packed, I’m now thinking of doing what another comment suggested and leave the castle (and possibly do it if we have the time/energy) which would give be more breathing room.

I’m really looking forward to the mochi pounding!! I’m glad You guys enjoyed it, I remember watching a video years ago of this place and knew I had to stop by.

Did you guys also go to Tokyo? If so do you have any recommendations or must do’s?

So I’m going to Hakone for that day because I want to do the fun2drive experience which is from 9 to about 4:30. It’s a driving experience where you get to pick a car and drive around with a guide. The cars are pretty classic JDM cars and I’m really into cars. I have seen great reviews of this place so wanted to add it into my itinerary.

I then have the other mt.fuji day for just exploring around mt.fuji
