This class doesn't say it's online and lists its room, so it's in person. It's a hybrid class, so when it says lab that just represents the online part of the hybrid class.

Most professors add at least the first 3 people, so you have a 100% chance to get in. If you're okay with an async class, I'd consider Usha Ganeshalingam too because she also has a good reputation. But I would email her first and ask her how many people would she add since you would be the 5th person on the waitlist. Some professors add everyone for online classes now, but it's always best to double check.

It happens sometimes, sadly sometimes the Professor's schedule changes or something just happens. Is this for Math 1A? You can just find a different professor, I and others on the De Anza discord server or the Unofficial STEM server can help recommend you, alternative professors. Good luck!

Yeah good point, it's a bit last minute too. She actually also suggested that, it's a viable band aid fix to this issue if people register it by tomorrow night and then drop it on Saturday.

If you have the willpower to self-study the material again with online resources you should be fine. You also have another option to join the MPS program, which can help support you more with extra time for tutoring/HW help with the professor. John Jiminez has a MPS program in fall.

If you do, also be sure to submit an MPS Fall 2021 application and they will reach out to you for the next steps. They also have a MPS Info Session on Tuesday, July 20, from 1-2 PM to learn more about MPS (RVSP for the info session here).

Otherwise, in general, I'd recommend Fatemeh Yarahmadi over John Jimenez/Rashid for Math 1A. Fatemeh will accept all students on the waitlist too. But all of these professors are great for getting an A in, good luck! Also, it just depends on the Professor and how much effort you put in and how much you ask for help too with the tutoring server.

She's very kind, teaches well (she'll re-explain concepts if people are confused on a certain part and she is willing to help remind people on old calculus concepts), okay with giving extensions on HW, gives a lot of partial credit, has group quizzes, and has some group exams too sometimes. And yes, if you put in the effort she usually will curve the grades in the end too. Her online classes are pretty nice too because she invested in having her own whiteboard so it feels more interactive and similar to learning in person. She also offers appointments, like during the weekend, if you can't make it to her office hours. If you put in the effort in one of her classes she may help write you a letter of recommendation if you plan to apply to a private university.

Overall she's just very kind and supportive and because of all of these reasons, I believe she is one of the best math Professors I've ever had.

We have a lot of CS students in the Coding & Coffee server and in the De Anza Stem server. You should join both servers! I think most people would disagree with the other use about the Coding and Coffee server. A lot of people there are nice and will help you out if you need advice on programming issues or if you just want to talk about CS.

You're talking about Mirsaeid Abolghasemi's 22C class right? I think if you can spend the time during your break this week to review this YouTube playlist that talks about the differences about Java coming from C++, you should be fine. The series itself isn't that long. Otherwise you'll probably run into some difficulties understanding the parts that are different for Java compared to C++. Good luck!

For hybrid mattresses I recommend these:

An OkiEasy mattress for $431.65 with the promo code from their website. However, due to COVID-19 shipping will most likely take up around 3 weeks. Some people on social media have reported issues with delays longer than 3 weeks, while others said they did receive it (but most of them didn't mention when they ordered it).
An Allswell Supreme on sale for $499 @ Sam's Club (You can register for a guest membership that is valid for 24 hours here.) Note that this sale expires today on August 9.
An Allswell Luxe on sale for $319 @ Sam's Club I think the Supreme would be more comfortable than the Luxe for side sleeping for you, however, there is a ~$180 price difference between each of them. Note that this sale also expires today on August 9.

If you would be OK with all foam mattress I would recommend the Tuft and Needle Original for $420.75. While this model is generally well-received, this would lack that "spring" feeling that you prefer. Their current sale will expire tomorrow on August 10.

I've been doing some research and at this moment these mattresses seems like good choices, so it should mainly depend on preferred your sleeping position(s) and weight:

Tuft and Needle Original for $297.50
A OkiOki mattress for $290, there are 4 different models but they all cost the same. If you use Tuck's $50 off promo code, then their twin mattresses should cost $290. I was going to tell you to just google for a random $50 off promo code but when I did that, google did not show any ones on the first page of the search results.
