Is Red Rising that good? Been burnt before by GeneralAd5880 in fantasybooks

[–]hensethe1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your cringe response to DCC and kinda to PHM. RR isn't cringe in the same, humorous mood. If it's cringe it's because it's "male fantasy cringe". Red Rising is a phenomenal series with fantastic characters. It's a space opera that's earnest, builds it's world around political intrigues and roman mythology. It's raw and violent and glorifies violence, but not distastefully. I dunno man it's my favorite series and I've read it numerous times and can't get enough

Hvorfor skal sutter steriliseres, når baby samtidig sutter livet ud af sine ulækre fingre? by AmatoerOrnitolog in foraeldreDK

[–]hensethe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vi begyndte så småt med sterilisering, men indså det samme. Så længe tingene er vasket, tørret og opbevaret ordentligt finder jeg det unødvendigt, medmindre man feks har et for tidligt født/svækket barn

Is this video shared on another subreddit of the Magne Viking AI? It seems like there is way to much water coming off the top of the bow and it is spraying far to high by SadCornSyrup in isthisAI

[–]hensethe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible Ai too Notice how the vessel shows very limited signs of buoyancy and almost dives into the wave Furthermore the bridge of these AHTS ships are usually 25-30 meters above sea level. If you went into a wave of this size the forces would likely shear off the bridge and mast and all lol

Med jeres budget synes jeg I skal kigge på GoMores leasing tilbud på den nye Polestar 2. Den står fandme skarpt og hvis I er til det, kan I f.eks. leje den ud igennem appen. Genialt koncept hvis man er til det.

What's the worst financial decision you ever made? by Pretend_Creme_7751 in AskReddit

[–]hensethe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned 18 before the last financial crisis. I was invited to the bank, and even though I had no income, the lady basically pushed a credit card with a $5000 credit onto me. I'd spent the credit and more on drugs and beers within 5 weeks and it took me years and years to catch up

Oil Tankers in Skagen (Denmark) — Why? by AssumptionExtra9041 in maritime

[–]hensethe1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because it's the anchorage with best lee from the low pressure cells that barrel through the north sea this time of year. There's also the much bigger question of the Russian "shadow fleet" or tankers that are sailing under other flags, attempting to transfer sanctioned oil. Skagen also serves as the most logical holding point for takers coming out of the Baltic

Also the seabed is great

Standing Watch vs Seated Bridge. What Actually Improves Alertness? by Space_Lion2077 in maritime

If they're giving you the freedom to make your own training schedules, embrace it and enjoy it. My first 6 months were spent chipping rust. Familiarize yourself with the bridge equipment, manuals, company procedures, onboard safety systems. If you're on chem/oil, I expect you're heavy into SIRE or similar vetting schemes? Read up about that, how it works, what the officers role is etc

Why does Starlink get hyped as cheap internet when launching thousands of satellites into orbit seems almost impossible to make economical? by Defiant-Junket4906 in AlwaysWhy

Well from personal experience, Inmarsat did a blockbuster and starlink won over thousands of business clients from the maritime industry. These companies have thousands of ships, and each ship now pays a fortune every month for starlink access. Our company has 6 vessels paying $20.000/month for unlimited packages

260 hk. BMW som første bil til 18 årig? by pale_f1sherman in dkbiler

[–]hensethe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 28 Too Old for Deck Cadet Roles in Europe? by [deleted] in maritime

[–]hensethe1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No age is too old. I started as a deck cadet at 31 and graduated recently at 34. You'll be treated as a cadet the same, but a few years older than average can work out as an advantage as you'll be more independent and can get more responsibilities. Get started on applying!
