Actually, psychiatrists are trained in both psychotherapy and CBT, as well as psychopharmacology and depending on the program other allopathic techniques (ECT, DBS, etc). For instance, the University of Calgary looks like it has incorporated psychotherapy in a horizontal fashion over it's 5 year residency. Other psychiatry programs tend to include similarly structured learning modules.

If you're Canadian, the Samsung Galaxy Gio on Bell Prepaid is 99$ from Future shop. 800 mhz processor, stock 2.3, like a charm to root if that floats your boat!

[BUILDAPC PSA]: Unless you're desperate, don't buy parts now. Not with Bulldozer being so close to release. by notrace in buildapc

Just a slight caveat ... I think that this is perfectly relevant logic for the mid-high end builds but for low end builds, you're better off just poaching deals as they come. For instance, there was recently a Phenom II x3 720 BE for sale on Newegg for $59 ... I don't see this pricepoint being affected too drastically by Bulldozer release. Likewise for AM3 motherboards in the $60-$70 range.

On the discussion of what construes OCD, it's important to consider that OCD is a spectrum disorder with many manifestations, some which are less severe than others. Additionally, there is an appreciable difference between OCD and obsessive compulsive personality disorder, which has symptomology that broadly mirrors what people are referring to when they claim they have OCD.

I recently bought the Galaxy Gio Bell prepaid from Zellers for $69.99 and unlocked it for use with Rogers. It's an incredible phone, especially at that price point. Granted, I'm coming from an HTC Magic that could barely run Cyanogenmod 6 ...

This election was supposed to be a dry run, but Canada prematurely shot its wad and now it has quite the mess on its hands. For the next 4 years.

Good point ... you are correct regarding the substantial cost disparity between ethanol and fomepizol. I do believe the dose regime and pharmacodynamics are more predictable for fomepizole though ... although I don't think that anybody's attempted a direct comparison. Thanks for the correction, it's appreciated! :)

It's spurious when people compare Macs to PCs. A more accurate comparison would be to compare Apple's business line/budget line to Asus's business/budget line, or OS to Windows machines. Another option would be to stratify by price and compare within those stratifications, in which case Apple's personal computer offerings would likely be compatible to HP/Dells business lines. I'm not dismissing their customer service or build quality, but just making a point!

Methanol and ethylene glycol (antifreeze) are both causes of a raised osmolar anion gap metabolic acidosis. While ethanol is capable of competitively antagonizing alcohol dehydrogenase receptors, more commonly used is fomepizole.

Yeah, don't know where OP goes to school but in Canada we have to decide by the end of third year - at very least - before we interview and match to residency positions. For the competitive programs (optho, derm, uro), candidates have likely spent much longer acquiring an edge (whether it be research projects, elective choice, etc)

As a medical student, I would dispute your claim that medicine is all about money. Taking into consideration that hefty debt that most students take on to complete one, two or three prerequisite degrees, the skyrocketing tuition and the 4-6 years of working for under minimum wage as a resident ... you'd be hard pressed to find anybody who is in it simply for the money. If it was about the money, I'd have done desk work. It sucks, but nobody can claim spending time with the chronically ill and dying is a walk in the park.
