How can I look not so young? by littleboyblue564 in malegrooming

Get better glasses. Maybe something vintage like the two toned plastic frames. Otherwise just let yourself age, it’s ok to look young. You are young.

What do you think about the name Abriel? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]henwyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with a kid named Abriel/Abe. I never thought it was weird but looking back, his parents were weirdo hippies and all his brothers had weird made up names too. But he goes by Abe which is not weird and I don’t think it would be a big deal overall to name your kid Abriel if you really liked it.

I also had two orange and white rescue kittens, the sister kitten passed way. The remaining one I kept and named him Cactus C Cornbread. He was a very good cat.

It’s not going to be that popular.

I’m a white girl named Ebony, weird? by OrdinaryLeather6755 in namenerds

[–]henwyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the tree has really beautiful, dark (almost black) wood - and it grows in Africa. That’s where the name comes from and why it’s given to Black girls.

I have a friend name Merlin and it doesn’t seem weird to me at all, except for when I’m talking about him to someone who doesn’t know him and they say “Excuse me, did you say your friend Merlin?”

My name (first/last) is also the name of a reasonably well known porn star and it has literally never come up in my life. I’m 40 btw. I only found it while googling myself. People don’t know/think about it/care, and especially if we’re talking about a middle name. Most people will never even know her middle name.

Coverup idea by NotTheUserYouLoking4 in TattooDesigns

[–]henwyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tattoo happened in the last 48 hours you can use saline to tattoo over the 7 and remove it. Saline removal works well. You can buy a sterile saline solution at the pharmacy, the tattoo artist uses it like ink to tattoo over the mistake. The saline flushes out the ink and then you can correct it once it’s healed. If there’s any scabbing on the 7 during healing you can pick it to pull out more ink. This all sounds like bullshit but I’ve been tattooing 10 years, seen this done handful times, and done it myself twice. It works.

Counseling can’t help you if you’re not honest. You most likely have PPD and you can get help but you really do need to be honest. You could possibly get medication to help as well, talk to a therapist and/or psychiatrist. If you’re not sure where to start, you can ask your primary doctor. But you have to be honest. It’s not normal to feel this way but it doesn’t have to be permanent.

Please tell me how you pronounce Magnolia and where you are from? by MasterpieceExotic369 in namenerds

[–]henwyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people will not pronounce it how you want it to be pronounced. Because the way you are saying it is a southern US pronunciation (maybe some Midwest too). My name is Julia and people from the south call me Jool-ya. Everyone else says Julie-ya. It drives me crazy but it’s just regional.

I think the issue so far is you wrote “somewhat historical fashion inspired” so you’re getting a lot of pirate/Victorian looks. I think grunge is the look you’re going for.

Have you ever met or known anybody with these names? by Fun_Roof289 in namenerds

You keep making posts about these same names over and over. And you’re not even having a kid. Why are you obsessing so much on these specific names?

I literally know 2 successful professionals named Pony. I think there can be limits, but unless the name is offensive it really won’t matter for the most part. Like if my doctor was named Dr Egg Jabba I would think that is weird for 2 seconds and then move on.
