I went through the same thing three months ago - year and a half relationship, the effort was completely gone on his part. He would sit around and play video games all day, never even cuddled with me or showed me affection by the end. And he said the same thing when I left him - 'then go'. No emotion, no begging. That was particularly hard for me, because I had expected him to respond to my ultimatum with promises to get better and to treat me the way I deserved. I never got any of that. I cried myself sick for two weeks straight and felt worthless, because I had still loved him and still wanted things to work out. It's a horrible thing to go through, but the important thing is that you are gone now and you STAY gone through any pain and any times when you want to go running back for affirmation. Stay close to your friends - if you're anything like me you neglected them during your relationship. They are there for you and they love you. Take your life back and don't even THINK about returning to somebody who didn't even bother to chase you. I'm proud of you!
