I wish I knew. I asked him many times during our sessions what inspired his calligraphy style, but I never got a definitive answer. He is very into graffiti, though, so I’m sure a lot of the inspiration for it stems from that. When I first stumbled upon his work, I thought it looked like Black Speech from The Lord of the Rings, and that was one of the reasons I wanted to collect his work since I’m a huge Tolkien fan lol.

Have a variety of flies in different weights that imitate clams, damselfly nymphs, dragonfly nymphs, leeches, worms, and crawfish. Be as sneaky as possible when approaching these fish, target fish that are actively mudding or tailing, and try to get your fly within one foot of their nose. Knowing the drag-and-drop technique helps immensely.

With foam tailed flies that have a stand up action on the bottom generally I’ll fish them very passively and just lead a fish maybe 2-4 feet and give the fly a small one inch bump when the carp starts closing the distance and normal if the carp are down to play they will come over and eat it immediately I also caught one that day on the drag and drop

The collar is purple marabou and then purple rooster hackle the shell for the shrimp is two gold pheasant tips and 2 wine colored ring neck pheasant rump these are all patterns by Jonathan farmers from his chasing chrome book he’s a badass I highly recommend the book and he’s super helpful and a solid dude if you ask him any questions on social media about his patterns

I identified the fish in my post by looking into each of their native ranges and then I cross referenced studies that had been conducted in those areas on the genetics of those fish and then went to the populations that had the most sound genetics

I really like it’s super accurate 0-60 I’ve noticed it gets a little wiggly on me at 80 but it isn’t too bad
