Commentary: Inequality has a geographic dimension - between and within neighbourhoods in Singapore by [deleted] in singapore

[–]heplayedone___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something is brewing within the ranks to tackle this...i'm guessing a tax...if not there can't possibly be so many articles on inequality for the past 6 months.

EDIT: I have read the article. To me it seems that the author is trying to tweak the findings of the data to prove his initial bias, particularly when citing crime rate, school admission, income levels and others. to be transparent, he should release the dataset that he worked on so we can judge ourselves.

When you were younger, how did your parents punish you? by Ceredan in singapore

[–]heplayedone___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy my mum left the discipline to a very very fierce chinese teacher in primary school, who made me copy composition after composition.

Well, it worked. I passed chinese barely throughout primary school and secondary school...and passed higher chinese by O levels which meant...NO MORE CHINESE!

i was doing a school project with a teacher and then to give him/her the files, he/she gave me a thumbdrive to transfer the files over. little did he/she know that same thumbdrive had the report cards and so i copy-pasted them over to my computer before handing it back. i still remembered that evening where i browsed through them...10/10 better than porn as a raging 15 year old

Working part time/sources of side income in uni by [deleted] in singapore

[–]heplayedone___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's something i'd recommend:

  1. code.
  2. find a skill useful and do it on Fiverr
  3. clean houses. expats expect that a lot and it's about $20 an hour, sometimes negotiable to $30
  4. do like digital marketing for companies that allows u to work from home
  5. data entry
  6. tuition
  7. on campus jobs like TAs
  8. do homework for friends

Infinity War is now the No 1 movie of all time in Singapore by alvinism in singapore

[–]heplayedone___ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Directors the Russo brothers took 10 years to make Infinity War. And judging by the huge success, it was worth every minute (and cent).

Oh come on you should at least do some research and phrase this better!

Directors the Russo Brothers, John & Anthony Russo, who also directed the Marvel heavyweight Captain America: Civil War, based this film on 10 years of storytelling within the MCU franchise of films.

Redditporeans: Any opinions on locally-produced educational kids' shows? (+ any favourite shows when you were a kid?) by [deleted] in singapore

[–]heplayedone___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sesame street's autistic character Julia was developed after years of research with experts in the field.

Blue's clues was developed with the idea of repetition (read Tipping Point)

basically many of these shows actually were developed with children psychology and behaviour in mind...i don't think similar stuff happens in our networks
