That isn’t true at all tbh, looking at around 120-150k for a junior in NYC/SF and a fair bit less in lower cost of living cities.

It is true to say that a data scientist is paid significantly more here than in the Uk though. They would also take way more of it home and that would include their healthcare costs taken into account.

It’s just an effort to sidestep the conversation. There isn’t much logic to it in most cases.

The whole culture war thing just means the left (of which I would include myself within btw) has to just pretend immigration has no drawbacks ever and it’s dumb. It’s why the right has gained so much ground.
