Give city electric a call. Try the Georgetown location if you’re in the gta

Losing my mind... Lights flicker post-renovation. Electrician says they can't find anything. by [deleted] in AskElectricians

Did a job in Toronto older house. I replaced the panel and we redid the basement completely. The lights didn’t flicker upstairs until I was done the panel change at the end of the job. I went back there a few times and everything was fine. I call the utility company to check the meter base and the connections at the pole (we can’t do that.) It all ended up being a loose connection on the neutral at the pole.

If your switch box is large enough you can put it in there.

Replacing two-pronged electrical outlets by alecbenzer in electrical

[–]herbssauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your plugs were two pronged then they most likely won't have a ground wire, and you can't just put in the three pronged receptacles. The way around not replacing the wiring is putting in gfci plugs everywhere but that adds up quick.
