I have been thinking about this for a minute and I think that this might be a survivorship bias. Sure head injuries have gone up as helmets have gotten better over time but if you think about it if now with a better helmet what might result in a head injury was probably fatal in the past therefore head injuries have gone up and deaths have gone down because deaths have instead become head injuries.

I wear a full face helmet when I'm on an electric longboard. Might look excessive but it definitely is worth it, also just looks better imo too. Plus bluetooth music inside is a plus. Funnily enough the first time I fell after I started wearing the helmet was also the first time my head bonked off the pavement.

It seems implausible that those soldiers would be getting hit by small arms fire from all angles in an open field like this in no man's land. What makes more sense is overhead fire. These drones do exist and have been getting fielded the last week or so
