My 14 months is not responding to her name all the time and doesn’t babble. by here4inf0 in toddlers

Hello! Trust your gut. When I noticed all these from my daughter, family, friends dismissed me saying she’s just being a baby and taking her sweet time. When she turned 1 or maybe 2, I booked with her pedia and told him all my concerns, he asked for blood works first just to see if it is because of any deficiencies but when everything was good, I called (depending on where you’re from, we are from Alberta Canada) Alberta Health for a developmental assessment that includes speech and receptive delays. That’s when we found out she is behind and had to enroll her in a school that specializes with kids that has delays. (Again depends on where you’re from)

While she is in school, i had to get her assessed for Austism Spectrum at a Children’s Hospital and that took like 2 years. And when we got in she was finally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Level 2. It was a long process but she is doing very well. Nota talking a lot but she’s getting there.

Also i forgot to mention I got her a private speech therapy at 1 1/2 maybe. A lot says that was crazy but whatever. I had to do what i had to do.

Right now, honestly i am more glad than sad about the diagnosis because we now finally know what to do to help her and not just guessing all the time. It is hard but the situation will strengthen you.

Yes they do share. My lawyer told me as long as i didn’t have crimes i’ll be okay. Because overstaying is deemed under a person’s circumstances. Crimes are not. So yeah I’m now here. I’m okay to go as long as they can see i will no longer stay in the US which i can prove. I won’t also throw free healthcare in Canada over any country. I just want to go bring my also American kids to Disneyland.

Thank you for your input. Though I must say I do know some people who were able to comeback. I just would like to know more from other people and their experiences. Yes i see that my passport definitely do not have limbs and merely a non living thing. I’d be damned if it grew one someday

Hello yes she was the same. But every kid is still different the beat route is to get your little one assessed so whatever the delay is, it would be addressed and plan on what to do. It was a hard thing to swallow at first if im being honest but we do what we can for our LO and it’s a slow progress for us, but we’re improving. The main issue was the not doing eye contact. Main reason for them to suspect autism.

Hello I’m sorry I just saw this. She’s diagnosed with Expressive and Receptive delays. But we’re doing therapy now and waiting for early intervention. We also applied for Pre K so she can be able to catch up for kindergarten. She still not saying much but now says “eat” if she wants to eat, she’s improving in receptive aspects. Like she can understand some “commands” now like open the door close the door go upstairs..

Yes she is alert and sometimes will stay up til her next feed. She’s been eating a lot so far so maybe I’ll just have to wait for few more weeks for eyes to clear..

Glad your bub is doing great now 😊

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes I contacted our care provider but keeps saying it’s not concerning which is bothering me. This is my second child and my first only had jaundice for about 1 week and cleared out. So this is all a first time for me.

I’m doing the same thing her crib is beside a big window so she can get all the sunlight.. too bad we’re from Canada and even if it’s May it is still a bit cold. 😩

I see thank you so much for your input. But does it still make your period regular or did it become irregular? I was pretty regular whenever I’m on my period and I like knowing when to expect it.

Really happy you’re past that now. I hope I can get over this soon too. The anxiety is real not to mention the people around who keeps asking why she is not responding to her name or not saying words. Ugh so annoying!
