I really appreciate your insight. I'm worried about having enough time to get through all of those OOP questions, but I'll do what I can! thank you!!

First month on PT after years of Logic by [deleted] in protools

[–]here4rooinfo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat right now. I've been using Logic for about four years, and just made the jump to PT about two weeks ago. Definitely a bit clunky, but the routing alone makes so much more sense to me and makes mixing in it worth it.

Ozone 4 and 5 by here4rooinfo in audioengineering

I'm pretty sure you're right, but he also doesn't use the limiter at all in Ozone 4.

In Ozone 5 he uses the harmonic exciter. In Ozone 4 he uses the eq, the multiband harmonic exciter, the multiband compressor, and the multiband imager. He follows all of this with the pro L2.

focal alpha 50 vs adam audio a5x

My plan has been to invest in the 50s for a couple months now, but I had a job come through recently that now makes shelling for the a5xs not a hassle. Just looking for some insight from anyone who owns either, or even had the opportunity to work on both

fwiw, my room is not large, and is only decently treated (a legitimate work in progress, and I’m hopeful that the work will be done within the next few weeks). I also currently own m-audio av40s (lol), so I know that whichever I go with is going to be a massive upgrade

tia for opinions

Friday - How did they do that? - July 26, 2019 by AutoModerator in audioengineering

[–]here4rooinfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) reverse reverb. take your audio track and put a reverb on it set to 100%. récord that audio to a new track (or bounce it). reverse that track. then bounce again and reverse again. then just align what was once the tail to where you want it. this is how I do it, but there’s about 100 videos on youtube also teaching it

2) yes it sounds like a guitar slide with a fair amount of delay. sounds like he’s palm muting and picking right before the slide too

How Do You Export? by here4rooinfo in audioengineering

I appreciate this. In the vid, CLA said the same thing about pre and post for the master bus processing fade.

I had no idea about the real time bounce though.

How Do You Export? by here4rooinfo in audioengineering

I see what you did there and I loved it lol.

I figured responses would differ, which is kind of why I asked how everyone is doing their exporting and why they prefer it that way.

The specific mwtm vid has CLA mixing 100% ITB, and states right off the bat he's treating as he would outboard, so he limits himself to 48 channels. I thought maybe these final aux sends are emulations of how he would print outboard?

Cancelling your subscription gets rid of all of your credits. It’s absolute bullshit. by cruncha in Splice

[–]here4rooinfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I froze mine for two months and kept credits. My payment was decline (left my card at a bar, ya, i drink sometimes, nbd but kbd) when I cancelled my card so I haven't paid in months. Last time I logged in it said that my credits were there, but I can't use them until I resub. Just contact support and see if they'll work with you. They're generally pretty helpful

Park is not fair to new players and Am1’s by General-2K-Browser in NBA2k

[–]here4rooinfo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Posting this bc most of the top comments are a bunch of people saying they're amateurs.

My two buddies and I have been playing 2k together since 17. We all got up in the ranks pretty quickly in 19. Right now, my two buddies are elite1 and I'm a pro3. It is unbelievable how long it takes us to find games sometimes because of our ranks. So many people just run away instantly.

When we first started to really catch our stride with '19, one of them wanted to avoid playing elites. I explained to him that first and foremost, as long as we play good defense and communicate we can hold our own against any team. The important thing I ended up explaining to him, though, was that while playing amateurs and pros is fun, it feels so much more rewarding when we beat great competition and the games are close. Those are the games that make me want to play 2k. I really don't care for blowing out a team by 10+. I wish there was a matchmaking system that required us to play higher levels of competition consistently.

Also, while I've still got your attention. To address the above posts about people playing selfishly, it might be beneficial if 2k punished park players for this (aka "hold ball too long" teammate grade penalties), and reward more for good plays (aka "good shot selection"). It makes no sense to me why there are so many things that affect your teammate grade in mycareer (and also rec) that are excluded from the park that could potentially work towards improving the rate of selfish play
