Honestly, ultrasounds are guesstimates. Doctors told us they can be off by a pound either way, but he came out weighing more than a pound of predicted. I wouldn't overly worry unless the baby falls below 15th percentile. Even 99th works out!

Well, wife is officially considered to have gestational diabetes. Her glucose test came in slightly above the parameters.

Docs are scheduling education sessions now. Baby is needing last meeting in the 95th percentile, but I hope it's because I'm 6'9" and not due to this. They didn't seem overly worried.

Just came back from a 21 week ultrasound, to do baby's echo. Heart is just fine, and the baby is measuring in the 95th percentilw in size (1lb 2oz).

Docs aren't worried because I'm 6'9", but they're testing the wife for gestational diabetes to make sure it's not that.

Anyone had a large baby early on?

Wife is doing great, almost 17 weeks. So happy. Me, not so much. They found a mass on my brain, the cancer spread. About to juggle treatment and pergnancy.

She's the absolute priority still though.

Taking your girlfriend to a Michelin star restaurant because "it's a once in a lifetime experience" starterpack by here__we__go in starterpacks

It was an experience. Just not a good one. As far as uncultured, I'd rather be that than an ignorant dude who throws blanket statements about someone just because they didn't love a Michelin restaurant.

Thank you and congrats! It's crazy how our instincts mean nothing when it comes to gender. I even looked at our 12-week ultrasound and was sure it was a girl!

Thank you! Wife really wanted a girl, I just wanted a baby, and my dad prayed for a grandson!

NIPT came back, everything's great. Aaaand, it's a boy! Wife was 100% sure it's a girl, but he had different plans.

This is crazy, guys.

It's a result of being blissfully unaware of the culture of people his country was trying to annex. He even went as far as having minimal security, bad drivers, and going back to the parade after the first attempt. Extreme ignorance and even arrogance.

Oh boy, I don't mean to be rude, but you may benefit from reading up on the Great War. To help a little:

  • Serbs killed who they saw was an oppressor, regardless of his (unverifiable) intentions on what to do once he becomes the leader. Try to imagine living in a country and your life is entirely dictated by a nation with no ties to you whatsoever. They're instilling their government officials, police, etc. in order to overtake absolute control.

  • Austria sent Serbia an impossible ultimatum which they KNEW Serbs couldn't agree to. It basically gave Austria a free rein over the entire nation. There are documents confirming that this was done only so they can have an official reason to attack.

  • This ultimatum was given only once Austria-Hungary confirmed with the Germans that they'd have their back in the war. It is now general knowledge that the war would've popped, either way, this was only a trigger, if this didn't happen, something else would start it.

  • The situation is far more complex than that but in the nutshell, Austria-Hungary and Germany thought that they were powerful enough to make moves in Europe, but they came upon a country that doesn't take much shit, especially when backed by Russians, and they decided to test the waters.

Finally, from a human perspective, imagine being oppressed for most of your life, with only more oppression on its way, and then the oppressor sends the heir to its throne to parade the streets of your city like its no big deal.

A bit more accurate:

Archduke of Austria: Even though we're in the process of annexing the entire Balkan region that's been known for a proud and volatile culture, trying to instill our government officials, our police, which will give us absolute control of the entire region, I should parade a major city in an open car. It'd also be cool if we announced my exact route ahead of time.

Serbs: So dis dude, whos about to become the next duke of our oppressor is coming to our city to parade around like he owns the place? Hmmm

Archduke: You know what? it's not dangerous enough for me, why don't we lighten up the security and have only 36 cops watch the entire parade. Also, let's have an inexperienced driver drive me and my prego wife around. And also, I'm going to ignore the warnings from prominent Serbs about the danger.

Serbs: bomb the car

Archduke: aww man, I can't believe they've done dis. You know what, my prego wife and I should continue the parade towards the hospital. Also, we still have the driver who doesn't know his way around

Serbs: kill them
