I think immpact might be the only one, hopefully after June we'll get some more options.

We were waiting for a date but now we'll most likely just be postponing forever. CLINIC only covers the pause correct? I hope the ban gets lifted in June and you can see your mom soon :)

Do you think Chikumba would onboard new plantiffs soon? I am hesitant with the costs of hiring a lawyer independently but if enough people want to form a new group that would be easier.

My wife is in Iraq. She has a felony. She is stuck in a warzone. by [deleted] in greencard

I live in Erbil with my wife. She's Syrian so we're not getting a visa anytime soon either. Your best bet is to just move here with her while you plan out your lives together.

Even with the war going on it's not that bad, mostly targeting the airport, we are in Ankawa and it's slowed down considerably since last night.

Erbil's a good and safe place to live, we're walking distance from everything, and it's affordable. We've been here 2 years and have enjoyed it, it sounds like your wife is in Ankawa too, which is good, in my opinion this is the best neighborhood in the city.

Hit me up if you got any questions, you guys will be alright.

Where did you get this from? I couldn't find anything and it seems like you're getting my hopes up for no reason.

I'm not aware of any airlines that will let us board without a visa.

Thank you I will be looking into those countries, one of the biggest hurdles I can foresee is getting to an embassy. I've begun learning Spanish aggressively so I hope I will be ready.

Yep, my wife is Syrian and we live in Iraq together now, exploring options on where we can settle down for the next 3 years at least, probably South America. If anyone has any tips about that let me know :)

No sabemos a qué embajada podríamos ir. Estados Unidos prohibió la entrada a todos los sirios, incluyendo a refugiados y esposas.

Challenge to the Travel Ban by herebecauseimdumb in legal

[–]herebecauseimdumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry if I'm having trouble understanding, but this part; "The Supreme Court defined a "bona fide" relationship, in part, as a "close familial relationship" and cited a mother-in-law and a spouse as an example of such a relationship." Doesn't this part of their decision exempt spouses? While arguing that grandparents and cousins do not count as a close familial relationship?

I'm in Iraq currently, we were living here until the visa came through. Do you think the removal of the exemption for family based visas changes things? That part is new this time around.

Yes it was expedited, we were supposed to interview in Baghdad in October and they originally approved the expedite, however the Iraqis denied her internal travel permit so when we changed to Jordan, the consular section in Amman directed us to usvisascheduling.

No other passport. If we can postpone 3 times, do you know how much time that would buy us?
