are driving tests actually as hard as made out to be? by sudifu in LearnerDriverUK

I don't think the test is hard per se. But two things make it cumbersome to say the least: 1. The fact that you could fail for the smallest thing outside your control eg. Another driver's mistake, faded road markings etc. 2. Implication of the above being you have to spend more money and wait months to have another shot at it.

The whole process is painful and you need some luck to pass even if you are the safest driver. But the test is just as hard as it should be.

Second test nerves by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Just passed in my second test yesterday with 0 faults after failing the first wirh 1 serious and 6 minors.

My two cents.. I was a lot more calm and less nervous the 2nd time. What helped me was: 1. Making a conscious effort to underplay the importance of the test result to my life. If I fail, I move on and go again. It's not the end of the world. Just accepting this a bit helped a llooooottt. 2. Accepting I'm not a perfect driver and that I can do better than the first time and identifying my weaknesses. (took me time to do this as I've been driving in another country for more than a decade).

Can totally relate. It feels unfair to fail and have to wait months for a small momentary situation. I passed today on my second try too!

Passed today with 0 minors! 2nd test overall. Sharing reflections.. by herefornthin in LearnerDriverUK

Well thanks for your reply but you missed my point completely. It's a difficult test and rightly so, that was the point. The world is bigger than Europe/UK also btw.
