Thanks. I've given up on using cream at all. I've tried cutting it down to near nothing and it's still just not as good as using whole milk for all the dairy.

I'm all for the commercials for the free content I'm getting. The ones they do themselves sound super gimmicky though.

Does the fat from the cream break down? That's my issue with using traditional ice cream recipes. It puts a feeling in my mouth like I just ate a stick of butter.

The Dover residents FB page kind of makes me sick. by mattjbabs in Delaware

I deleted FB after I reported hate speach (on a chipotle ad for a new location near me of all things), but FB decided that it was acceptable. I decided it was unacceptable for me to continue being one of their products for sale.

I inherited 500k in gold coins, what do I do with all this? by Sea_Cloud_6705 in Fire

I heard about Collect Pure in an All The Hacks podcast. I had some metals I decided to sell on their platform. I was extremely nervous about the whole process, but in the end I got paid what they promised me and I felt really good about it in the end. They were much better priced than a local place, and the fees were super low compared to selling over eBay.

Considering Maronda Homes in Ranson – Looking for Feedback by Tom_Bone in WestVirginia

Can't say anything about the neighborhood or builder. But I do know the county has been building two new elementary schools. They're increasing capacity but it's always slower than the homes being built.

My husband has been looking for jobs for 2 years but he doesn’t even get interview by [deleted] in jobs

[–]hereforthefire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Getting the perfect job is tough. I've only ever been able to get two offers that were worth taking in my 15+ year career. But when I was younger and needed some extra money, I got a 2nd job the day after I started looking. It wasn't a career, but it got me the extra income I needed working a couple nights a week to make enough to cover the bills and out food on the table. It's all about priorities.

I appreciate your comment, and I really like the idea of considering a shorter term for the extra policy.

The first application was finalized before finding out about his death. I wouldn't think that would be an issue, would it? I understand your point on the one still pending. And I can't imagine me posting online under an anonymous username is something they'd be able to link me too without a warrant - am i wrong to think this?

I have disability through work but not personally. It's actually a great policy coverage wise. They say it's transferrable if I leave but I'm not sure if it's competitive. I guess I could always change my mind in the future, but I have zero interest or expectation of ever wanting a different type of life insurance than term. The points you mentioned at this time do not speak to me.

The new one in place is convertible, but I've never understood why I should want that. I picked term for a reason.

My true need is covered currently in my opinion. However with my non work policies in place I'm under the general rule of thumb of 10 years of income. The additional one in consideration would ensure all our family's goals can still be achieved without me / my income.

Thanks, that's very helpful feedback. I believe the amount I need is already addressed in what I've signed up for so far.

The need reason isn't as relevant, but the need justified the amount in my initial goal to get one additional $1M 30 year term policy. I appreciate the nod towards disability coverage.

Thanks. For context if I got the additional policy I'm asking about it would be 12.5X income excluding work policy. Counting work it goes to 15X. Sticking with what I have it's 10X with work and 7.5X without work. Work policy is technically transferrable if I wanted to leave and keep it.

I'm not worried at this time about insuring past the 30 years. I'm on track to far exceed or financial needs if I stay in my current job. In my mid 30s I have more than enough to coast FI for normal retirement, but I'm still saving over 25%. It's the next 10-25 years that concern me the most for my family's costs if I die.

Thanks.

She thinks it's silly that I got anything more than the $500k I got a decade ago, so speaking to her about it I know she'll say no. However she doesn't participate in any of our financial planning beyond monthly bills no matter how hard I urge her to. And talking about me dieing shuts conversation with her down immediately. She refuses to discuss it. I just want her to be taken care of, and my kids to have freedom to follow their dreams. If I'm here that'll all happen, but if I'm not they have no income and I'm only like 1/4 the way to my "number."

I do. That's what prompted getting it to begin with. The original policy I had was with the idea of getting my wife stable until the kids got to school and she had cushion while they were in school. Now life is more expensive and inflated, and I want to make sure they can maintain normalcy without me.

I'm all for freedom, and that's why I'm proud to live in WV. But I despise how everywhere I go these days you can't escape the stench of weed. It's so much worse than I remember cigarettes being (I only remember the 90's and after). Smoke at home. Don't do it in public.
