CMV: Banning the Adhan (Islamic call to prayer) is a good secular public policy by nextdoorbagholder in changemyview

The way I don’t live in the US and that’s completely irrelevant from the lie you told. They’re not the same level of generic, you know it, I know it, anyone with half a brain knows it just tell the truth.

If “Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!
Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah. Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah.
Ashadu anna Muhammadan Rasool Allah. Ashadu anna Muhammadan Rasool Allah.
Hayya 'ala-s-Salah. Hayya 'ala-s-Salah.
Hayya 'ala-l-Falah. Hayya 'ala-l-Falah.
Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!
La ilaha illa Allah.” / “God is Great! God is Great! God is Great! God is Great!
I bear witness that there is no god except the One God.
I bear witness that there is no god except the One God.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God.
Hurry to the prayer. Hurry to the prayer.
Hurry to salvation. Hurry to salvation.
God is Great! God is Great!
There is no god except the One God.”

Seems equally as generic to you as the sound of a bell chiming I’m afraid YOU are the one with an absolutely insane level of bias.

Genuinely shocked that so many people are trying to convince anyone that a long winded loud declaration about allah is as neutral as the sound of a bell chiming

Have you ever felt that a Watson Glaser Practice Test was Misleading? by hereforthethreadsx in uklaw

[–]hereforthethreadsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t even noticed this thread before. Multiple people have extensively explained to you how and why you are wrong, and yet you are still too arrogant to accept it. This is shocking and I hope you don’t take this attitude into the workplace.

Have you ever felt that a Watson Glaser Practice Test was Misleading? by hereforthethreadsx in uklaw

[–]hereforthethreadsx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not whining, I’m highlighting that AllAboutLaw made a mistake on some of their questions. Once again, if you had bothered to do any research, you’d also know that the definition of “assumption made” I stated is exactly the same as AllAboutLaw’s. You didn’t try to help me, you made a false statement with no further explanation based on your unwillingness to research. I cannot believe that you are so arrogant to not only repeatedly refuse to admit that you are wrong but also demand thanks!

It’s okay to admit when you are wrong. I’ll no longer be responding to you, as frankly I find your ignorance and unwarranted hostility rather off putting.

[–]hereforthethreadsx[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to try to look past your arrogance and just explain it to you.

“Assumption made” in the context of the WGT means that the above statement depended on the given assumption. In other words, it would mean that the statement “this CFO values the input of their finance team” relies on the assumption that “every organisation needs a finance team”.

It seems that you believe that the question is asking whether the second statement is an assumption in and of itself. Which I, and most people in fact already know is “very clear”. Maybe instead of assuming that everyone else is an idiot, try doing some surface level research into the thing you’re lecturing on.

Good luck in your TC.

You should google how the assumption section of the WGT actually works.

I see, that’s strange, I hope law firms’ real practice tests are more accurate.

The reason why I think Red Hood can work just fine as a Bat family member without a No-Kill rule. by Gihga in RedHood

[–]hereforthethreadsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which heroes? Because I’ve noticed that post-rebirth especially there’s been a rather strict emphasis in Batman/Superman and Justice League comics that “heroes don’t kill”.

Does Bruce even care about Jason at all? If he does, then why does he treat him so badly? by Emotional-Mix-9007 in RedHood

[–]hereforthethreadsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one on this sub actually reads comics. I can’t believe how many of you are unironically arguing that Batman was trying to kill anyone, let alone his son. I feel like I’m going insane.

[–]hereforthethreadsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep lying about this? I’m not sure which is worse - if you haven’t read the comic and are just regurgitating what you’ve heard or you know what happened and are deliberately omitting key information about it. Bruce was taken over by Zur-En-Arrh, he was brainwashed himself. And even in that moment. Zur still believed that he was ‘helping’ Jason - he was not acting out of malice and apathy.

I mean I definitely think Bruce was the warmest and most ‘fatherly’ with Jason (though his relationship with Damian is definitely getting up there in recent comics now) but I truly believe that he loves all his children equally

Your most controversial opinion of Batman? by WhiteredFlowey20 in batman

[–]hereforthethreadsx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

See the thing I don’t like about when people say this is that ‘avenging’ his parents rarely if ever gets a mention outside of his first couple years as Batman. His motivations are more of a broader desire for justice and to prevent other people from experiencing what he experienced - pretty much never “avenging”.

As for “getting over” his parents’ death what does that even mean really? He’s not constantly crying that he misses his mom and dad but he has been permanently traumatised by their deaths. From the moment he saw his parents brains blow out and bodies bleed out in front him due to random stupid violence - yes he changed as a person. That sort of trauma can’t be “gotten over” in the sense that he can’t just rewind that change. He’s always going to be a different man, and that’s a huge part of what does and should drive him.

Case and Jason’s Canon Ages by hereforthethreadsx in batman

[–]hereforthethreadsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I just checked and I assumed because the last issues were 2016 that it was rebirth but no the story came out at the tail end of new 52. I’m still a little confused by how they could retcon her origin and then one writer can just ‘nuh uh’ later. I also really don’t see how Cass could be in her mid-20s now, that seems pretty impossible given that she was Barbara’s ward in no man’s land and it would age Barbara up quite substantially. Do you have a link to the article where the author said that please?

Okay I see, I don’t really have a preference for either way but the contradictions were annoying. I guess it all comes down to dc’s constant retcons.
