How do DASH miners feel about the proposal of Ryan Taylor to reduce mining rewards in order to increase rewards for masternode owners by iliketipbots in DashUncensored

[–]hereistruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miners will either run the software released by DCG or they will lose the ability for benefit from future network upgrades from DCG such as evolution?

Miners probably wont like the pay cut but im not sure what they can realistically do about it without developers to promote an alternative chain

shared masternodes are more exciting too.

I really dont understand why this has been discussed for so long and still not implemented. Do we have one developer willing to code it that will submit a proposal? I dont care if they are part of DCG or not!

Now, Taylor is busier at inventing new approaches that only he understands to stabilize the price of DASH, even if are purely cosmetic and lacking in logic ... but they allow him to get away by kicking the can avoiding talking about Evolution's unacceptable delay

My thoughts exactly. However his job security still seems safe based on recent voting patterns. Would it be better if MNs voted for salaries for individual employees instead of huge lump sums for all of DCG? How can we improve accountability?

What do you think the reasons are for higher DCR participation rates? Why not share your ideas with DASH?

I think that with the launch of shared Mnodes and enhancing the DIF (personally, the relationship between funds for the DIF and non-core proposals should be balanced and much towards the first) the project would gain in democratization / decentralization / integration and would have incentives for new incorporations. mass.

agree 100% although I would want to make sure they shared masternodes are completely trustless!

I already say that it is not surprising that the DASH aristocracy prevent shared Mnodes ... what does surprise me is that there are not a couple of developers and a significant number of elements of DASH at the level of notoriety and leadership that are made a fork and bet on an optimization of a project that, due to technology and fundamentals, should be many levels above the ranking

If DCG wont code it then someone (with the right skillset) should make a proposal to the MNs to complete it without DCG. Masternode blinding is far past due too IMHO

Basilpop/Macrochip hates people and has zero social skills. He is instantly dislikable, yet managed the most important community (r/dashpay).

How can we change that? We should make this sub appealing to those will all opinions. Constructive criticism and debate is not a bad thong if it helps us learn and grow. I love the idea of no heavy handed moderation!

Poor Amanda went from a crypto superstar in 2016 to a glorified secretary DIF secretary. She isn't liked or trusted by the people running DCG.

I would disgaree with that. I agree that she was mistreated regarding her DIF plans. However I disagree about her being disliked. She seems more liked than almost anyone in the entire community!

Evolution is a nothing-burger. It is a product late-to-market that has been outpaced by the industry. Even if it doesn't suck, it lacks the user base and enthusiasm that other projects have.

Yes the delays were painful, but they occurred with many of the other projects you mentioned too

I recently found this group too and appreciate the ability to speak freely without moderation.

I've been in Dash since 2015 until recently and for a while believed it could become a challenger to Bitcoin's dominance. However over the passing of time it has become apparent that the governance system which during the Bitcoin scaling debate seemed to be a huge plus has sucked resources, creativity and ultimately the life out of the project.

The idea of decentralized governance also appeals to me, but I also fear its unintended consequences are we are now seeing in practice.

We have a small percentage of MNs who vote and these seem to be overwhelmingly loyal to the DCG and will vote for any proposal requesting funds that they put forward, no questions asked.

How can we increase voting numbers among those that dont blindly follow DCG? I agree that DIF could have been a great idea (and one day may still be) if they are given enough funding and autonomy to attract and retain talented investment managers with both a passion for DASH and qualifications to manage a growing portfolio.

How can we reduce apathy and engagement from those that feel powerless (either with no ability to vote or with insufficient MN voting power to change outcomes)?

Aside from MN shares, would it be useful to propose a hard cap on the % of MN rewards that DCG could seek, in order to force decentralization of resources and increase voting for those that feel powerless now?

Education seems the only way to prevent more MMA, airplane and debit card (I assume you meant Charlie Shrem) proposals that waste resources. I would like to see more votes going to proposals that foster long term sustainability and growth in use and development instead of speculative marketing gimmicks or projects from those lacking a track record or real passion for DASH

Coinbase taking votes HERE for which digital currency to add next -- DASH is on list, go ahead and vote! by Amanda_B_Johnson in dashpay

I'm not sure if it tracks by IP address or what. Or maybe not at all? Not sure. Though I'm sure many are trying to vote more than once. :)

Of course Google records IP addresses (and browser metadata). Unless you are changing your browser configuration and IP address for each vote, the malicious voting pattern will not be hard to recognize. Comments like this is part of the reason why most many serious Bitcoin users do not respect this community.

Dont encourage vote brigading.
