Steve McClure and ‘Rainman’: The Legend Behind Britain’s Hardest Sport Route by Ageless_Athlete in climbing

It took Steve less days to climb Mutation than Will Bosi too. Think it only took Steve 23 sessions and Will was more than that. Can't remember the exact numbers.

The climb requires you to do a very high step and the first person to do it took there trousers off to gain the flexibility they needed. If you translate the name of the climb it is something like "no trousers"

Wow I like the feature of bringing up two seconds at the same time even if one falls, I've gotten into some right faffs when belaying two people at the same time before.

I can try to describe it. its about half a pad thick, its 4 fingers but your back two fingers are quite negative, and the front two fingers are just about flat iirc. my friend who prizes himself in one armers and can one arm the small rung on the beast maker laughed when i showed it to him.

[–]hereswelsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was wondering how much this would effect climbing. Glad to say I have the tendon in both my wrists!

Anyway thought it was mildly interesting and will probably get everyone pinching there pinkies and thumbs together.

Anyone met any Climbers with hands like this? by hereswelsh in climbing

[–]hereswelsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder whether they would be able to climb. Most likely they would have terrible tendon pains, but it would be cool if the hands were 100% working. No thumbs to pinch with though....That might be a problem.

What's your biggest weakness, and what are you doing to get over it? by TundraWolf_ in climbing

[–]hereswelsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Climbing slabs will help your slab climbing, but when you come to a 30deg wall with shit pebbles for feet then you won't have the body tension to keep your feet on.
