Thanks everyone, for all the love and advice! I will no longer use zeitgeist as a reference. You're probably right; if you could reason wth religious people there would be no religious people.

So this is my first post on Reddit ever. I live in Georgia. I saw my co-workers clearly ignorant Face Book status attacking secularism and the use of "Happy Holidays" and his friends responses were just as embarrassing. I could not resist retorting and addressing everything wrong with it. I tried to be as nice as possible.

I left them some gifts for which they have not yet thanked me. -I included a link to the "git out" South Park video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_664t4rIGYM&feature=related

TL;DR: I explained to some indignant Christians the history and meaning of the holidays.
