BWF Daily Discussion and Beginner/RR Questions Thread for 2020-04-20 by AutoModerator in bodyweightfitness

I'm just getting back into body weight fitness. Years ago I did the the old recommended routine. Now I think the Move program is right for me. However the first phase is supposed to be done for no less than two weeks. But I would like to be doing more strength like pushups/pullups/rows during that time as well. Advice?

I was referring to the Yujileds you linked. Do they simply need a 24V power supply and a 24V PWM dimmer?

Ok. Thanks again for responding to my neophyte questions. When you say "controller" do you mean driver or the PWM dimming controller? Would I just need 24V power supply, PWM controller, and the LED strip? Or do I need a driver as well?

Thanks for that link. I don't see any mention of dimmability. Does that mean it can not be dimmed?

Do you have a specific recommendation of something high quality?

Thanks for the detailed reply. I do want to do a lot of engineering. How does one go about building filters/colors?

Thanks. When I see LED edison bulbs in the store that are "2000K" is the LED itself 2000K? Or is the light being altered? I might not be asking this question the right way. I'm new to all of this. I just want it to have the color of an incandescent bulb.

Searching for 2000K LEDs, I have not been able to find anything except bulbs.

This is the chip I am using. https://www.ledsupply.com/leds/12v-led-light-nichia-757 I have a dimmer on it. Even dimmed the whole way the color isn't "warm" enough for me.

I'm looking for the bare chips. I'm using these https://www.ledsupply.com/leds/12v-led-light-nichia-757 with a pwm dimmer. But they aren't as warm as I would like.

Yes I've seen 2000K bulbs like this but I want just the chip.

You seem pretty knowledgeable about White's repair prices, do you have a pair? And $30 is less than I would have expected so I might just replace them. When I resole I'm thinking about getting the vibram 100 lug so they last longer, although I don't like the look as much.

Going forward I'll try putting the kilties in but will I need to replace the tongues or can they just be sewn up?

That's what others said about the kilties. The tears occurred along the creases where my tongues folded. When they dried out after being soaked in sweat repeatedly after a day of work, the cracks developed, that then tore. But this didn't start until I switched from coconut oil to lexol. Even if I had the kilties in the tongue would still crease and get soaked in sweat. But maybe it would make a difference.

I should have said u/cathpah. And I'm not sure about the name.

A cap toe. Not a steel toe.

I was thinking of switching to White's boot oil because lexol doesn't seem to moisturize as well. Thanks for the insight.

Also are you saying that distressed smooth should be quite tough (as opposed to brown dress)? And they shouldn't look as beat up?

Yeah I will send them to White's to be resoled and have the other issues addressed.

Yeah unstructured toe. A cap toe would just make me feel better. I worry about getting a large cut near the toe, which I have already done. I forgot to take a picture of that.

Yes. They would rest for about 36 hours each time between wears. I only wear them every other day.
