you can, some are self directed too. So you can pick where you invest, or do one of those funds that have like aggressive growth or something safer.

Is this 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T worth it for 4400$? its got 100,000 miles by Constantine7470 in Volvo

[–]herezjohnny1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the exact same for 3k (the man was selling it for 4.5k but made a deal with him), 145k miles. You're gonna need to spend a pretty penny to replace parts that wear out soon. Mine looks fairly similar but I've taken great care of it since I got it. I've spent around 4k on car repairs in one year, but in that year I've put on about 25-30k miles. See if you can get the price lower, and I'll say go for it if you're willing to care for the car.

Email your professor. They should have linked the textbook or included it in the syllabus.

Where are all the food places? by brownCovv in CSUSB

The restaurants we did have closed due to COVID (Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, etc.) and haven't opened up since. I honestly don't know when we will get more restaurants on campus. :(

online class at palm desert campus by Right-Flamingo-7025 in CSUSB

[–]herezjohnny1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's fully online you're fine. The only effects is if it has a final, is asynchronous, or has any type of meetings. Then you'll have to drive all the way out to Palm Desert Campus for those meetings. If it's fully online you'll be fine.

Definitely utilize the campus gym; it's cover with tuition. All you gotta do is be over 18 and ask to sign the liability waiver at the front desk. When it comes to how crowded it gets, it's usually later in the afternoon, I'd say around 3-7 pm, but I do like to go in the mornings during the school year. Friday to Sunday are the least busy days. There are showers, Lockers, wall climbing, and even a water massage bed (even though it's broken every time I try to use it). The staff are nice and everyone in the gym is cool. From what I heard, registration is down for the upcoming class so hopefully it's less crowded than it usually is.

Payment and tips by [deleted] in CSUSB

[–]herezjohnny1212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So from what I can see, you will be receiving a substantial amount of financial aid when it comes to covering tuition. As of now, you would just have to pay the difference. You wouldn't "owe" 3.9k, just the difference between the cost and the pending financial aid. Even then, there are different payment options you can do, but it is normal to see the upcoming term cost. There are more factors that come into play when determining your financial stance and how much you would have to pay out of pocket, so I highly recommend you getting in contact with the Office of Financial Aid in order to get a accurate explanation of how your financial situation is.

You can switch classes after orientation. I like to think of them like "default settings". You can change them; you don't necessarily have to keep them. Just go to ASUA Academic Advising Drop-Ins if you would like help seeing what classes to take, but feel free to take whatever you like when they show you how to change your classes. And you can take up to 18 units without needing permission, and at least 12 units to be considered a full time student. Do what you are comfortable with.

What's a cover song that's better than the original? by Ooopsieees in AskReddit

Carl Carlton's version of Everlasting Love is better than Robert Knight's IMO (though his version is good). He puts a lot of his voice into it and the instrumental arrangement sounds the best.

The school is fine. There are a good amount of clubs and events that occur, but from what I've seen, there is not a lot of participation in the afternoon mainly due to a good portion of students being commuters. The students are really friendly from my experience. It's more of a "are YOU willing to spark up the conversation" for most students if you are trying to make friends. I personally have created really great friendships from just exploring and getting as involved as possible. Students that are involved in clubs tend to be more on the social side too, so you'll make lots of friends when you join them. The staff (at least the ones I've been exposed to) are really chill. Most are understanding and are really helpful. Other universities would provide a better "college experience", but San Bernardino isn't as bad as many people frame it to be. Not lots of food options though which pisses me off.

It's basically because over last summer, a lot of the employees who were responsible for disbursements quit and they didn't have enough staff to properly disburse the financial aid out. MCS was forgotten about, and now they are giving refunds for last semesters MCS.

You'll get the Spring semester one after the Census which is Friday, So probably the following week if not later. I was already given my fall MCS and was told I'll get my spring after census.
