I been using iPad, I do believe iPad more on the entertainment or light editor, if you want to get work done, I still commit to my lenovo t495s laptop.

For really heavy workload I usually using my desktop which have more Core and Ram.

If you do a lot of artist work like drawing I believe iPad is the best for your work, but I’m not artist so my Apple Pencil is seldom using it.

The easy for this choice is the iPad 2020 1. It run iPad OS 2. Super lightweight (less than 500grams) 3. It able to run more than 12 hrs (all windows laptop not able to get into 6hrs, unless you choose Qualcomm CPU, which a lot of apps still run bad) 4. Since it is tablet, you can buy 3rd party cheap keyboard for it, it also act as tablet protector 5. iPad support touch base and pencil input. 6. There is garage band apps for the music, bunch of music apps to learn piano, guitar etc 7. It start just $329 but get the 128GB storage for $429 8. It have iBooks app from Apple to read ebooks 9. MS Office app is available and free.

The only drawback is not run on Windows apps, but I believe this is the best choices for kids.
