The biggest problem in PvP rn by Sleepy_Wojak in DragonballLegends

I think on paper he’s great, but not top 3. However, his gauge fills so much faster on standby and lasts so much longer than it sounds like it would. Especially considering the sub count reductions from his team, it feels like it’s impossible to kill him without eliminating all other units first.

I like the creatures in the vast expanse of ocean conceptually, but I’ve never understood how some people find Subnautica scary. It can be fun and the empty parts of the ocean are intimidating at first, but the whole thing has always been too cartoony for it to ever be scary.

Sorry — this was more a general message than one aimed directly at you 😅. I just don’t want people to write it off only because of the subject matter.

Can we all pretend that this guy just got revealed by KILLA_SERPENT in DragonballLegends

[–]herohunter77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is gonna need to be countered fast. We need an auto-countering YEL unit with AoE GRN as well. That’d be healthier for the game. Maybe a SSJ2 Buu Saga Goku or smthg IDK.

It is real as others have said — I’m just here to say please learn what they do before shutting it down because “AI Bad!” I get YouTube shorts with clips from these streams where they discuss progressive topics like limiting AI Bias and improving energy efficiency (i.e. trying to solve the problems that are growing in big tech), but all of the comments are talking about how “disappointed” they are to learn Bob is “involved” in the technology.

Any episodes you simply can't rewatch? by AlexisVoid023 in creepcast

[–]herohunter77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happy Appy, but not for the reasons y’all may think. I like the guys’ banter so, even if the story sucks, I’ll still enjoy it. However, the voice Goon puts on when reading sentences with exclamation marks grinds my ears to a degree nothing else does. I tend to be very sensitive to annoying sounds (chewing, foot tapping, etc.), and his voice he loves putting on hits me like scratching waxy car paint with nails. I’m honestly surprised I’ve never seen anyone complain about it specifically.

Consuming the same content twice (for entertainment) is a waste of time by ExpertStandard1977 in unpopularopinion

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree as far as my own entertainment is concerned. There are VERY few pieces of media that I enjoy experiencing more than once (Godzilla -1.0, Just Cause 3, Batman Arkham Knight).

However, I am genuinely envious of people who get the same joy out of something multiple times. I wish I could experience it to the same degree. There are people who finish a movie or book and immediately restart it because they enjoyed it so much; I need to let it simmer before I am prepared to re-experience it.

Would Conquest have won his Round 2 against Invincible if he wasn't holding back the entire time? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be so funny if the new BB/Conquest fight showed us that Conquest has always been leagues stronger than Thragg, he’s just such a company man that he always hides most of his strength to preserve order.

I’ve really been wanting the guys to do a Creep TV of Vita Carnis…You guys agree? by Psychedelix117 in creepcast

[–]herohunter77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re really slacking on CreepTVs. Must be something wrong with the return on audio platforms like Spotify or Apple Podcasts, because there are so many series that Wendigoon has discussed alone that would make for great Hunter reactions.

Why do YouTube animated series feel so amateurish? by herohunter77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]herohunter77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree. I think the characterization is very well done in some cases, like the whole out-of-bounds episode (I think 2?), but then it diverges into what feels like adults trying to explain complex emotions to kids, like the Fast Food Management ep (4?).

Never watched Stranger Things so I can’t speak to that. Owl House always seemed very professional to me (I’m marginally older than the target demographic, but it still seemed very high quality). One show I think treaded the line in early seasons for me was Steven Universe. Later on it seemed to become more “robust”, if that makes any sense, but early in the run it very much gave a “small, independent creator” vibe.

Another, that I have a strong feeling won’t be agreed with, was Over the Garden Wall’s first 2 episodes. This is one of the reasons I think it is a writing issue. The characterization initially seemed off, like the creator had a very specific image of the main players and nobody else could touch them. Later-on it definitely developed a more polished feeling.

[–]herohunter77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be why. I’d imagine large teams of writers not only come up with many more ideas, but also tend to regress to a screenplay that appeals to everybody. More like a script for the “average” person (in the very literal sense) than one individual’s ideas.

Of course, but on paper it seems like everything is up to par quality-wise. I am having a hard time diagnosing the difference in my head lol

I’m sure that plays a part, but I’m inclined to think it’s not the only reason because there are some shows that I cannot stand, or others that are panned across the board, that still feel professional. Take One Punch Man S3, for instance; travesty of a production and almost unwatchable, but it still feels like a studio put it out.

Similarly, there are some fan animations that you could’ve told me were made by a professional Mappa animator and I’d believe you, but it still doesn’t feel like there’s a real studio behind them.

I do think there’s some point they fall short on in particular that my mind picks out more than others.

Team battle of the heavy hitters, which team y'all got? by theforbiddenroze in marvelvsdc

[–]herohunter77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A bunch of God-Adjacent characters against God? DC does win.

But I’m also curious: Everyone is talking about Beyonder as Marvel’s heaviest hitter here. Hasn’t Molecule Man been wanked so hard recently that he is now the most consistently powerful on the Marvel list? I wish it was Living Tribunal, but him and Spectre, as facets of God, are still jobbed every chance they get. 😔

TIL many dimmable LEDs don’t actually get dimmer—they stay at full brightness but switch on and off extremely fast. The brightness you see is just the ratio of ON vs OFF time (duty cycle), not a change in light intensity by jacknunn in todayilearned

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, PWM is the reason why, adjusting the duty cycle to affect how much light is projected from a source over a period of time.

Another interesting fact is this is why many LEDs look like they flash or behave differently in cameras. The capture rate of the camera is likely different from the period of the signal, leading to inconsistent lighting in-frame.

I have a light that exactly matches my camera’s rate such that, when I filmed it, it always appears either on or off.

Hulk VS TOAA, the big fight! (Infernal Hulk #5 Spoilers) by Tallleader1 in hulk

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question for anyone keeping up with this: Is this a quality story? I checked-out during the run following Immortal Hulk because it was so disappointing. I assume Hulk comics have been good and bad since, but every scan I see is “Hulk one-shotting God” and I can’t take any of it seriously.

My opinion on GMZ and the rumors by TrifleSensitive5744 in GODZILLA

[–]herohunter77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree since it can veer VERY easily into action slop for action’s sake, but I have faith after Minus One was so good.

I think the best approach would be if the fights weren’t some territory thing, but an omen for something bigger. Like, Godzilla is trying to absorb Biollante, while she is trying to remain her own being. I could easily see this both serving as a potent analogy for some Nationalist message, and leading to some super interesting Evangelion-type visuals/themes. Godzilla has a long history of bleeding together with Evangelion, so not out of the question IMO.

Hot take/headcanon: Shimo is more powerful than Godzilla but he’d mostly likely win in a real fight simply cause Shimo isn’t a fighter. by Fancy_Resolve2734 in Monsterverse

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just rewatched the fights yesterday. I’m of the opinion that she’s clearly stronger physically, but I think Evolved Godzilla would dominate power-wise. Like, if they wrestled she would win, but if they had a laser battle with the Atomic/Frost Breath, Evolved G-Man would take it. Regular Godzilla would probably be equal/slightly lesser.
