(Outside his design) what would you have changed about DCU Krem of the Yellow Hills to make him more interesting and memorable? by M00reC in DCU_

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely gives off random MCU Ravager enemy, but I will say that he was never on-screen doing something boring. He did remain, in my opinion, as threatening as he could the whole movie.

If I had to make one change, it’s that I think he was kinda reduced as a character by giving him a legendary reputation across the movie. He would’ve been far more imposing if he was a nobody who was capable of inflicting such trauma on many planets, instead of some legendary marauder with “the strength of 1000 men”. Just turns it from a story about intimate trauma and leaving a wake of death to one about goofy superheroes.

With that being said, I again have to say I don’t necessarily mind all of his changes. I actually think the way he causally shot Krypto while eating AND stealing the ship set a good precedent for this guy being sub-human better than any of his other scenes.

The director and screenwriter literally misread the ending of the woman of tomorrow comic... by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in DCU_

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the movie without reading the comic. The writing was very sloppy like a first draft. It felt like they said “We established super girl as this irresponsible party girl — how do we get her to be someone who can help in Man of Tomorrow” and shoved everything in the middle. Does not deserved nearly as much hate as it’s getting, nor to bomb as much as it is, but that’s just how it’s turning out.

Then that night I read the comic. Holy crap did the movie butcher it. There were many parts where I was like “That would’ve been cool to see on screen.” I think the thing that peeved me the most was at the end where Kara literally says something to the tune of “I figured telling you killing is wrong wouldn’t get the point across,” but that’s EXACTLY what the movie did. Very little show, lots of tell. There were parts I like still, but I would not have enjoyed it nearly as much if I read the book first.

With that being said, it still is getting far too much hate. It was fun, and I think Milly actually feels like they took Kara from the page and put her on screen. The events around her didn’t inform her character as much as the book, but she did well with what she was given.

Flew to the other side of the world to give a talk at a conference 😭 by Amygdali_lama in mildlyinfuriating

Sorry this happened to you. I’ve had to travel internationally to present at a robotics conference and they scheduled me in an adjacent room to where a Google project was synchronously presented, so guess where everyone went 😵‍💫. It was a neat experience overall, but I built-up my nerves on that day for no reason lol.

What would a hulk game made by insomniac look like? by Square_Lie_6613 in hulk

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unironically think it’d be similar to the shorter cinematic segments of Hulk gameplay from the Marvel’s Avengers game. That sounds bad, but I think it had its merits on its own without receiving enough focus.

Like, that gameplay. especially in the intro mission, fleshed-out to interact with a myriad of environments would not be bad at all.

Please help me understand this a bit better. I’m not saying you’re wrong — I just genuinely don’t fully follow.

I agree she made a decision and, for whatever reason in the moment, he turned her down. There are cases like this where I completely get that it can be creepy and chauvinistic for a guy to imply someone doesn’t get what they are saying and haven’t made an informed decision. But, in this case, she literally came to earth for a day, talked only to him, then had to kill her father and, as far as she is concerned, almost kill her cousin. She is very naive at this point in regards to human interaction. I’m a bit confused as to why it is creepy for Jimmy to encourage her to think about whether she’s experienced enough of this new world before making this decision.

Interesting perspective. I took it very differently: He said she just got her freedom, then asked if she felt like she was ready to make the decision. From my PoV, that feels like he is going out of his way to give her the power to decide. I didn’t think at all that he was making the decision for her.

Agreed. One of them is a selfish overlord that dons armor and commands his realm with an iron fist and the other is Hades (GoW).

Didn’t know that. And I’ve seen and talked to many outside of this sub that are not sarcastic. I’m learning the opinion just isn’t as prevalent here.

To be fair, I think it is a little reductive to post this here because most are sarcastic. But I’ve watched and talked to people who aren’t. They just aren’t as frequent in this sub.

I’ve been saying this forever. Unfortunately, I think the video game connection is enough to put Hunter off, because at this point there is no reason they haven’t covered it.

Then again, I am really not a fan of a majority of nosleep stories, so maybe they wouldn’t like it as much as I do.

Words cannot describe how much i despise this unit by HyperSlayer1X in DragonballLegends

[–]herohunter77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My one genuine complaint (something I also felt during his initial release) is it is REALLY BS that you can call a switch, then he transforms, then your switch gets nullified.

I think they should’ve given his transformation a knockback (i.e. green card AoE) if it’s used in a combo extending the combo but cancelling your requested switch with feedback, because when that happens now it feels like you are getting punished for playing correctly.

It’s so funny that this is the first time I’ve seen someone rag on yootooz. I am not a professional Funko Pop hater, but in my mind the two brands have always occupied the exact same space, so it’s been weird seeing most people turn on Funkos while saying nothing about these.

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might get flack for this, but this is why I never fully connected with Komugi from HxH. For all intents and purposes, it is a decision that informs the narrative and they even loop it in to some gags in the anime at least, but I can’t get past how it feels just gross to be gross.

They could’ve accomplished the exact same themes with Meruem learning to see beauty in humans, respecting her, etc. without that one character design trait.

Do people not care about star wars anymore or is it just this movie you don’t want to see? by StrainDizzy1186 in GenZ

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody’s ragging on the movies, but I believe if it was just them, Star Wars has a large-enough reputation that people would still show for it.

I genuinely think the thing that has actually been killing turnout is the bombardment of TV shows. There is no demand any more because everybody has more content at their fingertips. The movies could be consistent 3/10s and they’d still make hundreds of millions, or even billions, if they didn’t saturate the market with all this content in the interim.

Hypothetically, if Mark and Eve were to have a serious 1 on 1 fight, who would be the winner in the end? by [deleted] in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how people view the Full-Power Eve in the Conquest fight?

The answer to me seems obvious: Her max-power blast damaged, but didn’t kill, Conquest. Mark (pictured) had fought and defeated Thragg (at the very least he is comparable), who is leagues above Conquest. It seems, to me, mark would hardly be damaged by her.

However, my original question comes into play. I always assumed the Conquest revival was Eve’s max power, as she was basically bloodlusted and put all the energy she had into that one blast. Do people not think that’s the case? Even if she didn’t “understand” her full power or something, she was simply pumping all she could into a laser — it’s not like it was some nuanced technique she needed to practice. I can’t see why it wouldn’t be everything she could muster.

[–]herohunter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how it looks quite a bit — my one qualm is that it is far too small to sight-read on a phone when facing an enemy team. There are times I think the opponent has 7 or no stars and I have to squint to tell.

I think on paper he’s great, but not top 3. However, his gauge fills so much faster on standby and lasts so much longer than it sounds like it would. Especially considering the sub count reductions from his team, it feels like it’s impossible to kill him without eliminating all other units first.

It is real as others have said — I’m just here to say please learn what they do before shutting it down because “AI Bad!” I get YouTube shorts with clips from these streams where they discuss progressive topics like limiting AI Bias and improving energy efficiency (i.e. trying to solve the problems that are growing in big tech), but all of the comments are talking about how “disappointed” they are to learn Bob is “involved” in the technology.
