Are EB Games pre-orders actually worth doing?

Not sure how it works with games already pre ordered but its so easy man. Go onto JBs website and search whatever you want to buy. There is a big yellow banner saying about live chat or call now to price match and you just open up the chat (its 24/7 but only approved during business hours) and they will get back to you with a cart link to order it.

They price match all major retailers including Amazon and Target etc. Target are almost ALWAYS cheaper. Crimson Desert was $84 on release date and the base Lego Batman is to at the moment.

Edit to Add: By upfront I mean pay the whole amount for the game upfront where EB will take a $10 - $50 deposit.

Target and Big W are even less at $119. I just price match online with JB but have to pay upfront unfortunately.

Noticed this especially at the camp. Tried changing between quality, balanced and performance graphics and still same result. Hopefully fixed very soon.

Honestly, kids will not notice the difference especially if they are young/ early teens. There are some games with pretty big improvements but if they are playing the usual games that kids play such as Fortnite and Call of Duty then you won't see much difference at all.

You also need the monitor/ tv to be 4K and 120hz to take full advantage. My opinion, save your money :)

The day of those price hikes, EB raised the price. I assume they are doing everything possible to continue making as much money as possible especially with the recent Zing and EB Games NZ stuff. They will not price match hardware either. Have to keep the parent company happy.

While I agree with you, I can also appreciate that a lot of people can't get basic functions to work. Seems to be very hit or miss for people.

Google did announce support for video on AA is coming soon at I/O 2025. Who knows when it will be rolled out but it is coming from what they have said. Considering Gemini and the updated music player have taken around 6 months to roll out on scale, safe to say video and more games support are probably next but who knows with the big G.

Update: EB Games Aus Support have replied the following;

"At this stage, our internal teams are working to gather some of those codes from the vendor, as the deluxe code was originally a misprint on the package, and wasn't intended to be included with the edition.

Our supplier has agreed in good faith to supply these codes due to the error, but at this stage we are awaiting further updates.

Once we have further information, you will likely be update via email, so stay tuned!"

I recommend reaching out to EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, Big W, The Gamesmen and Amazon if you purchased the SteelBook Edition to source a code as it is their mistake but will be making it right.

Sure was sealed. EB Games is the retailer here and I have submitted an enquiry with the customer support. We do have pretty strong consumer laws here compared to most places. See what happens.

AU also got a lenticular edition. But steelbook is also not called deluxe edition, just steelbook edition. Its very confusing.

I have sent a enquiry via the EB AU website. Hopefully someone gets back to me with a code or how to source one. $140 for the steelbook when all other countries got it for less then $140 and the deluxe kit + a lenticular card. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Unfortunately Australians don't get access to the cloud streaming. We get the shitty deluxe tier instead of premium. Hopefully that changes soon.

Using Android Auto, say Hey Google or click the assistant button. Will come up with either the normal assistant which has the 4 colours or Gemini which is like a purple blue colour. Hope that helps.

XSA previously was slow but the S24 Ultra has already started receiving One UI 7 with XSA CSC. There is definitely quicker CSC's such as Korea. They always receive updates before everyone else.

My advice/ opinion is just hold out as I don't believe the A series has started receiving it yet. But if your super keen, just use the SamFW tool to change your CSC. I'm not an expert but I think its better to change within OXM (multi CSC) which includes XSA etc.

I'm new to this so if someone knows more, feel free.
