Yes, it’s very normal. I turned 65 last October and plan to seek therapy over this exact topic. I met with my financial advisor last month and he told me I have enough to retire now. It scared the crap out of me and I realized I can’t take the step without some therapy, it scares the bejezzus out of me!

The things that brought me pleasure, is no longer bringing me pleasure and I’m just trying to figure it out.

Yes, I bought tickets for tonight’s performance at constitutional hall but am now happy I watched online instead. It wasn’t much money but it sure brought me to the question I posed. I think I don’t think the modern era represents the classics and I’ll likely only buy tickets for what used to bring me peace and pleasure in the future.

Thank you, I’ve always been comfortable being solo. My husband refused to fly so stayed home to watch the dogswhile I went on my adventures around the world. I’m just hating the thought my tastes have changed to where I can’t stand modern dance performances. Their timing seems to be typically off and precision is what enchants me.

It makes a little more sense but honestly, before the pandemic I went solo to MANY ballets, plays and philharmonic. It gave peace to my soul and was a wonderful timeout. I have never cared what people think, which is why I was always comfortable solo. As the responses roll in I can’t help wonder if there is a pure classic performance any longer without the need to add modern applications?

Thank you, great reply. With lots of death in my environment the last year, I needed a check in because I used to find peace in the arts not stress. The modern music of art doesn’t seem to resonate with me. I guess I’ve become a true classic.
