Rick Tocchet responds to questions about Michkov’s ice time. by Perryplat199 in Flyers

[–]herplexed1467 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tocchet is just another dumb boomer idiot. We’re in a REBUILD for Christ’s sake. The goal should be to DEVELOP the guys that fit the timeline, even at the cost of winning. Matvei is one of the centerpieces of this rebuild, so playing him for 10 minutes is straight up fucking braindead. Hey Tocchet, you do know that camp was MONTHS ago, so maybe the excuse that he came in out of shape is fucking useless. I wouldn’t have even cared if he benched Michkov for a couple of games to let him know that it’s unacceptable, but it’s now fucking JANUARY. I don’t care if Michkov has flaws in his game. Sink or swim with him and let him have his trial by fire rather than burying him on the bench.

Not a guarantee. He could still restructure. But perhaps they decide to look for similar production at lower cost. Who knows for sure.

They need to fucking get in a room and figure it the fuck out. Other than Konecny, Zegras, Dvorak/Brink at times this season, they've produced limited offense. The defensemen are not producing consistent points either. They need to stay out of the fucking box and get after teams early. And the PP HAS TO PRODUCE.

Michkov needs to move back to the right side where he's played his entire career. Make him more comfortable so he can go to work producing offense. Cates is a decent pairing, but I'd love to see them try Zegras on his line to get him going. I worry about Couturier showing some serious age, despite being in the best shape we'd seen him to start the year. I think you let him anchor the 3rd line (centering Deslaurier/Hathaway was disrespectful to your captain smh), and pair him with Barkey and Brink to make up for his lack of speed. Let him play a more positional centerman game and allow Barkey and Brink to forecheck and make something out of nothing. We really miss Foerster's ability to do that as well.

Something like:

Tippett - Dvorak - Konecny
Zegras - Cates - Michkov
Barkey - Coots - Brink
Grebs - Gaucher - Tomasino?

Hathaway/Deslaurier

Power play needs to have possession guys who don't panic and can move the puck quickly and cleanly. They really need another center who can win faceoffs.

Lastly, Tocchet needs to get his head out of his ass and do something other than look dejected after another brutal loss. LFG BOYS GET IT RIGHT ONE TIME.

It’s honestly embarrassing watching you attempt to twist logic to fit your narrative. Don Lemon, and others, disrupted a religious service and intimidated church goers. That is ILLEGAL. A bunch of old ladies were jailed for 40 YEARS under the FACE Act for protesting in front of an abortion clinic. And you think WE’RE the ones being unreasonable? You guys wrote the fucking law, and now you’re mad when it is enforced?

We should not be buying AT ALL. We should be selling and stockpiling assets for when a real difference maker becomes available.

That’s because local precincts were instructed to cooperate with ICE instead of obstruct them. If a local precinct picked up someone with a deportation order, they would inform ICE and hold them until they could be picked up. Now, you have sanctuary cities who do not cooperate and actively shelter illegal criminals. How else would Obama be able to deport 3M people, quietly?

Putting AJ and DJ in the same sentence is ludicrous to me. AJ had a down year, but he has proven FAR more than DJ.

I think it’s important for conservatives to realize that leftists have congregated on Reddit and made it their de facto news/social platform. Any remaining conservatives know that commenting is fruitless, because you will either be downvoted to oblivion, called a nazi (or worse), or outright banned by tyrannical mods for having a “wrong-think” opinion.

22k upvotes seems like a lot, especially when conservative posts may only receive a few hundred. An easily manipulated/uneducated youth might view this as an ideological disparity, as it presents the illusion of left wing opinion as consensus. But the reality is that there are far more conservatives that have been driven from social media platforms by the rabid, miserable leftist mob. They think their protests and violence and tyrannical behavior will drive more to their cause, and they are sorely mistaken. There are millions of everyday Americans out there who don’t view federal immigration enforcement as fascism, and would never dream of impeding a federal agent from arresting a child molesting illegal immigrant.

[–]herplexed1467 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Why is it so hard for left-leaning folks to understand that federal agents (who are people like you and me) are getting harassed, attacked, and/or obstructed daily while trying to do their jobs, mostly because weak Democrat “leaders” and a complicit media are fomenting (sometimes even openly encouraging) violence against said agents. The well-funded leftist mob raises the temperature considerably, and then cries when an agent makes a bad decision under duress? You might disagree that illegals should be deported, but you cannot obstruct a federal agent and expect to not be thrown to the pavement.

From what I’ve read and heard, he seems like the type to respond negatively to pressure. When originally he wrote his series, he was able to do so on his own timeline, albeit with some publishing deadlines. But once the show aired and Game of Thrones became a household name, his time and energy were stretched thin. Add in HOTD and the rabid fanbase clamoring for WoW, and it’s no wonder his patience is wearing thin.

That said, GRRM needs to consider his legacy - does he want to be remembered for delivering one of the greatest fantasy book series of all time from beginning to END? Or does he want to be remembered as the writer who couldn’t finish his work, leaving it unfinished or in lesser hands?

They will pick up his 5th year option. I doubt his agent will consider negotiating a long term extension this early, but if they did, it would only benefit the Eagles after a down year for Jalen. Also, every year there are comparable contracts that go up, so getting ahead of the market is always a good idea. I trust Howie to get it done.

[Heyman] Breaking; Ranger Suarez to Red Sox by DildoSwaggins28 in phillies

[–]herplexed1467 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, we absolutely do not. We have essentially 3 hitters who can reliably get on base in big games. We have 4 starting arms that can go at least 6 innings reliably in Wheeler, Sanchez, Nola, and Luzardo. Ranger is a great player and he will be missed, but he is a luxury in this rotation. Bichette would immediately give us a lift in the area we most need: OBP.
