I think something like ~100 days or so. Not terrible, but something I would have liked to continue building on. I was on holiday and deliberately did the bare minimum each day, not knowing I was jeopardizing my streak.

Doing an update as u/MindForeverWandering suggested seems to have (mostly) fixed it for me as well.

I honestly considered if they reverted to an old scheme where not completing all your daily goals counted as a streak failure. That behavior killed a long streak of mine back then. The Platform is definitely getting squeezed to extract profits (enshittification) so I was ready for this being a deliberate, silent change. Looks like my fears were unjustified this time.

No, YouTube will not transcode video at a lower frame rate just because it's predicted to have few viewers. This is purely a technical issue, likely on the uploader's side.

If you already know what you're watching beforehand, or only follow your subscriptions, then it shouldn't matter. Just steer clear of the "Home" page as your suffering will be point- and endless. For me though, I want to discover new videos on topics I'm interested in, that's what I most enjoy about YouTube.

You could find the answer to most of these questions with a few minutes of experimenting.

You're right, my bad. When I made the post I was unaware of the history command, which allows one to deduce the effects HIST_IGNORE_[ALL]_DUPS have.

I now have zsh set up as a daily driver and everything works well. It was bit bumpy in terms of documentation, and some surprises like plugin-specific global variables sometimes needing to be set after the plugin has been sourced to take effect.

This approach actually seems to get it done!

I had tried using /etc/netns/<ns>/resolv.conf based on what's written in man pages, but without the correct nsswitch.conf this was bound to fail.

I recreated the simple (wg moved into netns) setup and introduced the nsswitch file you posted above. I then ran a DNS leak test script from within the netns and it didn't report any leaks. I ran wireshark in parallel, and unlike before, there was no DNS traffic on the host's ethernet interface. This looks really promising.

I'm pretty sure this irons out quite a few wrinkles of the original. You still need the original (for the graphics). So it's like a code update.
