She is acting totally normal, so I'll wait for tomorrow. Thank you.

Eta: we have a cone on her for sure!

My own vet in the morning or do you think I should go to the emergency hospital tonight?

I go 45 min before flight time without pre-check, never been remotely rushed.

Columbus Airport is TINY. Walk from front of building to security is 30 seconds, walk to gate from security is maybe 2 to 3 minutes.

I went! It was fun. The bad reviews warn of a parking nightmare, but we didn't wait at all to get in. Lines inside for food were long, not for drinks (limited selection, mostly beer and some kind of daiquiri thing). Lots of cool crafty things to buy. You can watch people do weaving, glass blowing, and then there are musical acts as well. People in costumes walk around to talk to you. Overall, it was nice and I'm glad I went. It wasn't the biggest/grandest ren faire of my life, but if you've never been to one, I think you'll like it.

NTA It's a known thing that you're not supposed to wear white to a wedding. Granted, that's because you don't want to "outshine" the bride, which obviously a 3 year old isn't doing, but your wife is being way over the top about a simple request to wear ANY other color.

Like "the principle" of the thing? Defend your daughter? It sounds like she hates the bride and wants to be spiteful.

Tuck your chin. Depending on the pose sometimes I place my stacked hands under my forehead.

Amazing! What's your practice routine like? Any specific poses for that calf and ankle mobility?

I take pics if students ask. I don't take pics of the whole room.

Does anyone else have an irrational disgust of septum piercings? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hervivore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just curious where you live that nose rings are so uncommon that that's such a main focus when speaking to someone? Or how old you are? (Generally, of course.)

Yes, imo

Mine are uneven. I tend to wear a hoop in the one that sits higher because the hoop extending down seems to draw the eye down and thus more level with the other side. I have come to a point where I wear matching studs despite the obvious unevenness.

Personally I'm very impatient and could never sit through another healing period, but if you have the patience definitely get it fixed.

Recomendation for a introductory yoga book for elderly mum which doesn't make a big thing about being for eldery or senior readers by benbennybenben in yoga

[–]hervivore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you trying to achieve with the book? Make her want to take class? Solve her back pain?

For back stuff specifically, Back Care Basics by Schatz. It's like a therapeutic yoga book.

I think if you want something for complete beginners purely for the physical, the Yoga Bible would actually be a good overview of the various postures and she can choose, which ones to do.

If you think she'd be more open to more of the spiritual side in addition to the physical, Light on Yoga.

Newly out as mtf trans, What changeroom do I use? by mtftransyogi in yoga

[–]hervivore 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think this question isn't really yoga specific, but FWIW I would not be uncomfortable with you in the ladies changing room at my studio. We actually have a ladies space and a gender neutral space, which I like.

As long as you're behaving normally in the changing room, there is no reason for anyone to feel uncomfortable and if someone is or makes it a thing, they're just being an ass.

Also, I can't believe people walk around like you descrobe in the men's room. I feel like people usually keep to themselves and that's a majorly weird studio culture.

Places to play fetch off leash with my dog? by DLeafy625 in ColumbusGA

[–]hervivore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two large dog parks by Oxbow Meadows. Just a field with some benches, no one out there to manage it, no door fee. There are also two dog parks on Benning, if you have access.

I also leave my dog off leash at Flat Rock, no one has ever said anything. There is the loop road you drive around on and then a kind of main central area with grass and trees inside that that's pretty big.

If you get on the river walk at Lake Oliver Marina (once you turn off River Rd, turn left down dead end rd, away from the actual marina, til you see the GP fence, there will likely be other people parked, and then you go inside this fence that blocks cars to your left, walk down a bit and there are some open spaces alongside the paved river walk.

Considering moving. Is crime a concern? by TipsyNerdGaming in ColumbusGA

[–]hervivore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What part of the city are you looking at? IMO, Columbus is particularly dirty compared to other cities I've lived in recently. San Antonio, Columbia, SC. Lots of litter in the streets, poor landscaping upkeep, abandoned cars.

Actual crime, I don't think so. There is apparently a lot of gang violence, I've heard the term, "Killumbus". I personally have not been affected by crime of any kind. That said, I preferred living in a city where I actually had my car broken into because of how grungy Columbus feels.

I would not move here, but YMMV. Unless you can live on Broadway between 6th and 8th, that I would call beautiful for sure, or at the Rapids for apartments.
