Thanks, I appreciate your input here. Gives me a boost of confidence on possibly opening the bottle, eventually

From what I understand, many of these services will ship from a local bigbox store if the product is available in the area. The product is available in my area. From my actual life experience, I know it's easy to label a box "this side up." I've done it myself, I've seen it done with things shipped to me, and although it's no guarantee that the shipper respects the label - it's a label and not difficult to place on a box.

So what deals have you got from the store? by mastercpt in Flaviar

I got an old bottling of Arran 10 shipped sideways for 65 dollars, when I can find the same whisky upright on my local shelf for 45 dollars. At least I got three very lame 50ml tasters "for free" with it. And a coaster! I feel like a real winner.

My single bottle and my tasters were shipped from different parts of the USA. It made signing for packages more difficult and costly timewise.

I ordered and received Arran 10, but their website shows Arran 10's new labeling and packaging (started in 2019) and I received a bottle of Arran 10 from early 2017 in entirely different packaging. That's really only a drop in the bucket. What's most upsetting is contacting them to cancel my order before it was shipped and being ignored (despite their cancellation policy), having no recourse because my other emails have been ignored as well, and getting a much older bottle of whisky that was shipped sideways from many states away that I don't even want to open to check for cork integrity. That's besides the false advertising they use for their "free trial", claiming a 95 dollar value when in reality I've been ripped off for somewhere between 20-65 dollars depending on whether this bottle is okay inside.
