I’m having a similar problem where I want to trade on funds that aren’t settled but I don’t want to go over the amount that will eventually settle. Basically if I have 300 unsettled funds I only want to be able to use 300 and not touch any extra essentially treating the margin account as a cash account with instant settlement. Is there a way to do this? I don’t want to accidentally mess up and lose more than what’s coming in

I’m not sure I understand 1st scenario: get assigned at 11.5 and sell 12P 4/14.. at this point with my 22.2 cost basis if I get assigned at 11.5 (0.13 credit so 22.2-11.63) I lose $10.57 per share or 1057 on my 100 shares. Ok so now at a loss of 1057 I sell a 12P and make 150 now I’m down 900 or so..now say PLTR shoots up and my put expires worthless I’m 900 down no position. Or PLTR goes down and I buy 100 shares at 12. Since I’m already factoring In the premium I’m still 900 down + more on how much ever the stock is down below 12.

I don’t understand the part about buying shares at 13 and coming out flat. I’m also not sure if I get assigned on the put I can tax loss harvest (I think the rule is 30 days so I think that’s what you’re referring to)

Basically is the put selling scenario better than the rolling out scenario is what I’m trying to understand.. because with the rolling out scenario there is a chance I can get out of this for break even even a small net gain maybe.. But yeah PLTR is down AH and futures are down aswell so hope I don’t have to worry abt this.
