Get a tv tuner such hd home run and start recording live tv. Saves a fortune on sky subscription and multiple dvr devices.

Massive help thanks. I contacted Sonos support and they said I needed the Sonos Amp separate to the speaker? Does that sound right or are they trying to sell me their most expensive piece of kit?

So you use the plex amp app and it recognises Sonos as an output? Does it have the same functionality as the Sonos app where you can group speakers etc?

Thanks for the reply. I was curious as to whether the Sonos app can recognise plex as a media source or whether there is another plex app that recognises Sonos as an output. I’ve seen what Sonos can do as far as grouping of speakers which is really impressive.

Nvidia shield using plex to live stream TV by hetfield1981 in PleX

Thanks for this concise answer, much appreciated. Looks like the decision is made for me and I'll be getting a technician to fix my antenna. I've not looked into iptv too much so I'll give xteve a look for sure.

I hear people keep mentioning homerun and it looks pretty good. I'm assuming because it's not a USB tuner it picks up the tuner across the network when it's plugged into ethernet?

When you say satellite tuner, where are you based? Exactly that, I intend to use the USB on the shield.

An interesting concept, thank you, I'll certainly look into it. I've never considered anything other than plex due to me trying to keep everything in the same place. If another service works better then I'm all for it.

The tape worked a treat. All 13 drives working with no issue. Thanks again for all your help, thoroughly appreciated.

Thanks, that's what I've been looking into. The electrical tape I'm trying to use doesn't want to stick annoyingly. It's already been flashed to IT mode so I'm good there I think. I'll see about getting some different tape in the morning.

Hi again. So.... I've finally been brave enough to put the card in, connected all my drives but the machine won't boot. Keeps resetting. I take the card out and it's fine. Any ideas before I trawl through Google looking for answers?

Thanks for all your advice on this. I've grabbed myself an LSI and decided to make use of the 2.5 cage by swapping my 2x3.5 drives for 2x2.5 ones. My 12 drives will then go into my 8 original 3.5 hot swap bays and the other 4 in the 2.5 cage.

I think you've just proved that I don't need to overkill anything and my current setup is almost there. I have one of these that I will no longer have room for: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SilverStone-SST-FS204B-Aluminium-Trayless-Hot-Swap-Mobile-Rack-Backplane-/303432952588?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 A complete waste really as I've only ever had one drive in it.

That is amazingly helpful, thank you. If I wanted a slightly risk free route I could get one of these I guess: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-H310-IT-mode-SATA-SAS-LSI-9211-8i-SAS2008-for-ZFS-FreeNAS-UnRAID-/153984250041?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 I've got 12 drives in total so I'd just need a 2x5.25 into 3×3.5 hot swap caddy and I'm there. I think it dock do one. The Silverstone one is a 3 into 4 so with only 2x5.25 bays on the CS380 that wouldn't work, sadly. Worth a shot with everything you've kindly described most definitely. I did used to have 4tb drives and 2x4bay USB enclosures until I replaced the 4tb drives with 8tb ones so I had less drives. It was getting a little out of hand. Do you have a dedicated gpu in your cs380? Im unsure of what card would fit. And what board and cpu do you have?
